Hi Rainbow,

You are very welcome. I always advise people to buy Dr M's book as I think it is a great starting point and if you understand the science behind what you are doing I think it makes it easier. When I am asked how I lost weight I always attribute it to 5:2 as I believe it is a very successful and sustainable way of losing weight painlessly and maintaining without stress. The trick, for me, is to tweak the basic formula, or not if you are happy with it, til you have a way that suits your lifestyle and needs. We are all individual and I truly believe that 5:2 is SO adaptable that almost everyone can benefit from it in one way or another.

This forum is fantastic for help, advice and just plain old nice folk who will always be happy to point you in the right direction.

I agree about the Fastdiet book. I have that as well, and that's the first one I'm reading. It's so well written and easy to understand.

Hoping to join you on 16:8 for Maintenence very soon :) I have been reading your posts for a while now ballerina and been trying to incorporate this WOE into my life anyway.

I might be counting my chickens too soon (4 pounds to go as of this morning), but you are my inspiration for getting to Maintenence and believing I can stick to with it once I do.

Just wondering, have you done any full fast days since going full time 16:8, or has there been no need?

Hi Umleila,

I have occasionally done the odd fast day but, not deliberately but because I was busy, not hungry, felt a little under the weather etc. I have never felt the need to fast to lose weight since doing 16/8 as I feel that natural fluctuations and inclinations seem to keep my weight stable.

Having said all that, it is an undeniable fact that I eat less and drink less alcohol than I used to but, it was overheating and drinking that got me as heavy as I was!

Hope you enjoy whatever you do and good luck,

Ballerina x
