Almost all weightloss supplements are useless in a practical sense and many are downright dangerous. The supplements that claim they speed up your metabolism might quote scientific studies supposedly showing a difference but the amount of speeding up is so tiny as to be irrelevant.

Neither green coffee beans nor raspberry ketones have been proven to noticeably aid weight loss in humans. That's the scientific bottom line.
Both show promise IN THEORY, mostly based on animal and in Vitro tests, but humans are humans and most of our internal systems differ from lab animals and what works in a test tube does not always translate into practical life. As such, I would suggest nobody waste their hard earned money on these supplements. It is FAR, FAR easier to simply get your diet in check and stay active.

There are very few legal substances in existence that actually magnify fat loss. Nearly all supplements are either complete marketing nonsense or they provide their effects through secondary means. (For example - increasing perceived energy levels and lowering fatigue = you become more active by default, burn more calories and lose more fat. Nothing to do with the substance affecting fat loss directly)

Raspberry ketone is the compound responsible for many flavoring and aromatic qualities of cosmetics and processed foods.
When present in high doses, raspberry ketone can exert fat burning effects on various areas of the fat cell. These effects may be similar to those of Ephedrine and Synephrine.
It should be noted that all evidence for the effects of raspberry ketone has only been observed in vitro (in a test tube). Though researchers are able to raise the concentrations of ketones in a single cell during studies, these same concentrations cannot be replicated in the human body, particularly through oral supplementation.

Oral ingestion of Green Coffee Extract may weakly reduce body weight in overweight and obese persons (mechanisms currently unknown, thought to be related to preventing carbohydrate uptake from the intestines after a meal) although the degree of weight reduction seems quite unreliable at this moment in time; studies in lean persons are nonexistent right now.

Remember the old adage 'If it seems too good to be true, then it probably is!' Save your money and sit back and enjoy your slow but manageable 5:2 journey!
Yes I know about them by experience. I saw the add by Dr Oz and got excited as I had problem loosing weight. I started taking full strength Raspberry ketones for two weeks. I had no weight loss at all despite the exercise I also was doing. Plus they gave me an acute constipation. When they the company "Health something or other.." sent me the capsules they also sent a note that if I give them a "positive review" I will get another months supply. With the result I had I obviously didn't and then threw the rest of the capsules in the bin. I realised then how they got all those positive responses by bribing people. Lucky I heard about the Horizon program with Dr Mosely from my son at the same time so I immediately started 5:2. One year on I am on my target and will not ever recommend any weight loss supplement to anyone.
