This woman ..( I have never seen her before) is a contraversial person in the UK apparently.

Her opinions on the overweight will make you cringe.

On morning TV show called Sunrise, she is interviewed.

apparently the program is running at the moment in the UK. hope it doesnt come here in Australia

facebook post this morning . https://www.facebook.com/Sunrise/photos ... =1&theater
(she also happens to say redheads are ugly so clearly she is a bit mad and Sunrise should not give her airtime. )
That makes me sad and angry. Fat shaming is so counter productive and rude.
Never heard of her before. Apologies for this self fulfilling UK export.
Hate is a strong Nasty word which I don't use with regards to people very often but.....this woman makes my skin crawl.
Shes very controversial and whenever she shows up on UK tv the Facebook feeds go mad. She's all black and white and thinks that people aren't hurt by the nasty things she says.

Examples - only low class people name this children after places, she must have forgotten that she has one child called India, another called Maximilian and the other poppy. :dazed:
Fat people should be given jobs, people shouldn't get benefits...it goes on and on..

I have recorded this documentary as am interested how she dealt with being overweight, but obviously this wouldn't show the social stigma associated with morbidly obese people on a day to day basis , but her experiment, I believe is to show that it's not that hard to lose weight. Obviously if you're a healthy BMI add some fat then go back to your healthy lifestyle is should come off again.she is also a runner.

Right or wrong? I look forward to seeing how it goes.
Well as someone in the UK social media has already said about her something like - people can change their outsides but you can't change what is ugly inside (and I'm NOT saying that means I think anyone overweight is 'ugly' please note); just that she is quite an ugly person in her thinking, non? And I agree about 'fat shaming'- it seems to be becoming more and more acceptable. It's not, is it?
Oh Juliana...lucky you for not knowing who this woman is. She first appeared on "The Apprentice" over here a few years ago. She was despicable then and she is even more so now that she has been given air time. I was SO hoping she wouldn't be able to shift the 3 stone that she deliberately put on just so she could show people how easy it is to lose weight. People like her are just horrid...and should be ignored.
:curse:
Adam Hills says it best. There is some swearing in this clip. She is a troll in the real world. I turn her off when she is on any tv or radio.

Though contraversially Adam Hills our very own Australian celebrity gone-to-the-UK, names Katie as the biggest .xxx.. of the year, worse than Rolf Harris. Given that Rolf's bad deeds is child molestatation (or so the court system there said) Adam may well have got it wrong, but it just goes to show what a hooror Katie is.
Thanks for sharing that @Brand-ie looks like a good show, shame I missed that!
What a vile woman though, eh
I think it was more he was playing to his UK audience @juliana.rivers. She was called Rent a Gob by Peaches Geldolf. She was awful on the Apprentice she was nasty about the elderly, northerners and kids.
@nursebean It was repeated last night on channel 4 but will be on 4OD on line. It is on again on friday at 10pm channel 4. We love it. Adam's Stop Being a D rants are brilliant and on you tube, He does them for alot of people.
Somebody asked me about this. From the figures released in print media (I haven't seen the programme), I have to confess myself a tad baffled. She must be at least 5'9 (1.75m) tho' it's said that her starting weight was 8 stone 8 lbs (120lbs or approx 55kg) which made her a BMI of 18 before the weight gain (technically and somewhat arbitrarily, underweight by category). She gained 49 lbs/3 stone 7 lbs/22kg to barely reach a BMI of 26 - which is just into the overweight category.

And, she did that by deliberately eating junk food rather than adhering to a whole food template. And by not exercising for 12 weeks. And I gather she's made it public that she's epileptic (and, allegedly, a high risk one) - so I have to assume she's taking some interesting management medication.

So, this is an unbelievably odd/trite n=1 - and I can only say that the TV producers must be delighted by the controversy for such a low-cost item.

ETA: of course, in the previous classification system (the one where BMI 25-30 was within 'normal', and the threshold for overweight was BMI 30+) she'd still be classed as 'normal' - and, given her fitness level and probable lean body mass, and the tiny amount of time she spent being heavier -> barely overweight. Colour me unsurprised she seems to have experienced little difficulty in shifting that weight blip. Ho hum.
Happy to say I have no idea who she is , why anyone listens to her, and have not seen the programme.
She runs marathons apparently. DH and I didn't think the figures added up either.
I will definitely look out for that on Friday @Brand-ie, so thanks for that!
I think the answer to this woman is...just ignore her...then hopefully she might GO AWAY!
KH is a nasty piece of work. We don't usually watch "The Last Leg" but saw it when she got a well-deserved slating.

She recently got herself arrested for offensive tweets about the Glaswegian nurse who contracted Ebola - enough said!
