@Karenm - I think everyone has suggested everything I can think of - personally I use MyFitnessPal and have a buddy who has access to it too so she can see what I'm eating and make suggestions if necessary. I can't say I never eat in a moment of weakness but most times I find that if I weigh up whether I would rather be slimmer sooner or eat whatever it is I can usually resist!

Best of luck - hang in there!
I am thankful that fasting has at least reined in my the binging aspect of my eating. I do still eat badly somedays, but it will be 3 or 4 biscuits not the whole packet type of eating.
I did not drink enough at one point and now have cold sparkly water at hand at all times, these small things make a big difference. Your life is so busy I think a journal is a positive step as while we can all provide advice you can work out what and how it fits for you. Another form of digestion  Take care
@lizbean i like that.." Another form of digestion" !
Hadnt thought of that before..altho i often process events/ info etc..
But yes a journal is deffo another good way @karenm on keeping tabs on everything! X
@Candicemarie thanks, I also notice you new sig, bigger knickers, I have had that on my fridge too courtesy of DD 10 years ago, for her reminder not me.
5:2 is certainly a matter of personal digestion ....... it works in different ways, as we live different lives, tis very good that we have a great meeting point and can understand each other.
Me too. My Chimp wants to eat junk too much of the time but my Human wants to eat well for health all of the time and anyone who has read The Chimp Paradox knows that the Chimp always wins. I am in the process of re-reading the book carefully and slowly to learn how to manage my Chimp. (The Chimp and the Human are our two brains).

I do know that when I am busy or stressed I don't have time to think about eating healthily so end up eating rubbish...yes I know you can eat healthily when you don't have time but that is just how I am. As mentioned in another thread, I am on holiday next week (OH is working and the kids are at school) and hope to have some me time where I want to read some low GI/GL cookbooks I bought a while ago. I've managed to lose two and a half stone by doing mainly 5:2 with some 4:3 but I really need to eat better and that will get rid of the last few pounds.
@SSure, interesting again. I have new ones to add to list of eating reasons 1) all those veggies in the fridge are going off, let's eat them and 2) I never seem to eat much anymore, what about all those favourites, let's eat them all today.
Hi @Bobshouse I wish you have a very restful and gentle 'you' time next week. I too need to read the Chimp / Human brain book. My light goes red, I find it hard to eat during stressful periods, I lose my appetite so I am the opposite of you and @Karenm. It is certainly good to talk out loud.
I'm so glad I ground this thread, tho it's taken me a few weeks to get the courage to post! I also struggle with emotional eating/ eating when I'm not hungry, have periods when I can really control it & like now, periods when I just want to eat & do!
Look forwards to finding out coping strategies & chatting to others in the same situation x
