Hey just saw this being advertised - basically a 6 week program and can get you off your plateau. Anyone know any details about it though as you can't even get a preview of the book?
I just found it on Amazon, not released till the 8th May, and no 'Look Inside' feature available yet.
Just try ADF to get you off your plateau!

I bet there is absolutely nothing in it that we all don't know already

I don't want to be a cynic here but I find all these diet books a bit of a rip off even if they are by Mimi Spencer - if you've got the basic idea of 5 2 or 4 3 or whatever then why would you buy endless books saying the same thing (and being marketed as a 'beach diet') just to line someone's pocket?? I am eternally grateful to MM and if I ever meet him (he apparently lives in this area) I shall tell him but it's a bit of an industry, non?

*stands back and awaits the flames*
I quite agree with you which is why I shall not even consider it. Dr. MM never set out to be a rich author, he was only ever interested, and still is, in making medical documentaries. The book was in response to massive public demand and Mimi Spencer co-wrote it and provided all the recipes. She is a professional journalist, nothing wrong with that, but this is how she makes her living, good luck to the lass but I shall not be a customer.

Me neither having made a solemn vow to never buy another diet book who ever writes it. I understand 4:3 and am finding it suits me. I don't need any special recipes either.
Agree with everything here. The power of marketing..... On the plus side, maybe a few more newbies will sign up :like:
Yup like@loversghost and others say..these endless books are just moneymakers for their authors
Paul McKenna has made a fortune from basically the same thing wrapped up in slightly different titles..he can make us thin/stop us smoking/ help us sleep..etc etc etc...and there's a separate book and cd for each...
I understand how you feel tho..that feel of " this one might, just might be THE one book that makes the difference.."
Stick with the basics you already know and put the book money in your holiday fund Mousey! X
Ps Have to add tho..no book in the world could make me look good on a beach any more ! It would take a miracle!
I thought with this WOE we were meant to be getting away from quick fixes. The title sounds like the sort of headline you see on the front of magazines at this time of year.
Slightly off topic (but on the money making theme). Has anyone seen Good Housekeeping - May edition?

Diet Like a Celebrity has various plans at a cost to help weight loss. The 5:2 version costs £17.50/day. Over 7 days you get 5 days of 3 meals/day totalling 1200cals and 2 days of 600 cals. And there's no booklet to give information. Did I hear the sound of a bandwagon tuning up
Wow, I don't mean to be rude but these are cynical posts for sure. Why not give it a chance? And what's wrong with Mimi Spencer writing books on the topic of fasting?

I read that Mimi's new book is just bookcamp for the summer, encouraging 4:3 over 5:2 for a short period. If that's true, I see nothing wrong with that. My husband lost 50 lbs. 4:3ing and hearing about Mimi's new book, he is encouraging me to say "can" instead of "can't."

What I'm noticing is that the successful diets like Atkins and Weight Watchers, etc. all come out with new books every year or so, probably to keep the diet fresh in people's minds and in the press! I see nothing wrong that that. I think a series of books on this topic is very needed!

My husband is personally looking forward to Mimi's Fast Beach book because he says there are hardly any books that really talk about 4:3, which is definitely his way of eating.

I didn't mean to offend anyone, being new here on this forum, but I'm all for new books written about fasting!
The Kindle version is already available on Amazon Australia.
I downloaded it, and really there is nothing in there that we don't already know.
Usual 5:2, or suggestions to try 4:3, etc, plus eating a meditteranean type diet. ( 5 days clean eating, 2 days as per usual 5:2 fasting ) Also has an exercise section again, nothing earth shattering.
Hi @daisyflower I think the point some of us are trying to make, albeit perhaps in a cynical sounding way, is that with this way of life you can liberate yourself from the emotional tyranny of feeling you must buy, read, and try every new book/publication re dieting that hits the bookstores. I've been there done it all, like a lot of others on here, and I do truly feel free from the diet industry hype that I have succumbed to all my life. I no longer feel the need to keep looking for and finding the holy grail because for me it's here, it's free and it's easy. I have nothing against people publishing umpteen diet books but like every convert who has ever 'seen da light' I now no longer need these literary crutches. It is a sad fact of humanity that when you no longer need something yourself you lose the ability to understand why others still do. Apologies if we came across as unpleasant, I'm sure no one intended to and with that I shall still never buy another diet book because I really don't need to, simple as that. Good luck to you and your husband, hope this all works well for both of you,

I noticed this has reappeared in the mail advert seen on tv yesterday.
