FastDiet in the news again!
21 Jan 2015, 21:21
One of my lovely neighbours put last week's Radio Times thru my letterbox coz there's a v positive article about the benefits of theFast Diet..evidence seems more concrete now as to how good it is for us
..trying to find a link to it online but i can't find one ..
A journal called Cell Metabolism says recent studies have shed light on FD's role in adaptive cellular responses that reduce inflammation and bolster cellular protection.
Also a 2014 study by Prof Valter showed for the first time that fasting can switch on stem cells and regenerate the immune system
An unexpected benefit of IF is that many people are seeing improvements in their asthma and eczema
Big up the Fast Diet! Image

Serious improvement with my eczema whilst doing 5:2. Since ADFing it's all but gone, my skin isn't dry and itchy or flaky and finally I no longer have the hands of a 110 year old woman! I have soft hands ! This is such a big deal for me, I have had a lifetime of dry, cracked, weeping hands. I get the occasional breakout now but nothing like I've had in the past. I know it's IF that has done this, had a month off of fasting last year and wham eczema on my ears, neck, face (seriously not a good look) in between my toes! Everywhere! very itchy month that was. Started fasting again and bye bye scales hello silky soft Minsmum!!

I hadn't thought about it before but my eczema is much better than it used to be. My asthma is worse than before but it is allergy and exercise relate asthma.

Gosh my hay fever was much better last year, though I thought it may be my contact lenses

I, too had much reduced hay fever last year, but I thought it was due to less (of this particular) pollen around. I have never figured out what exactly caused my hayfever which mainly raised it's head in autumn. Never thought it could be fasting related. I will definitely be mindful ot it this year.

Autumn hayfever is generally mould related. Tends to be worse after a wet summer.
