Nearly over now, but hope you had a peaceful day away from Christmas crowds and shops!

Thanks all for the birthday greetings - there was a small amount of wrestling through the crowds in search of last-minute items (including a birthday cake!) but even that had a silver lining (big Sainsbury token received on first visit applied against an already discounted bottle of Courvoisier on the second visit ten minutes later).
Old climbing/running partner and his wife came for lunch, the book I had ordered for myself (as MrsPete's present) arrived from Amazon despite being out of stock on Friday, and the family all went for a curry in the evening at our local Indian restaurant. The only downside is a 2.8 pound weight gain - but this is a fast day so all is good!
