How Food Marketing Creates a False Sense of Health
http://www.uh.edu/news-events/stories/2 ... etingstudy

Health-related buzzwords, such as “antioxidant,” “gluten-free” and “whole grain,” lull consumers into thinking packaged food products labeled with those words are healthier than they actually are, according to a new research study conducted by scholars at the University of Houston (UH).
"Northup hopes the results of this study will contribute to an increased dialogue on how food is marketed, guide development of specific media literacy and help people understand the effects of how food is marketed to consumers."

IF, and that is a big IF, we had more critical thinkers in our country who were not so gullible to the psychology of marketers and advertisers, or were interested in getting information in more than a 10 second soundbite, this would be laughable. But since many (no one from the States on here of course!) are not taught to think for themselves and allow themselves to be spoon-fed bs that marketers are so good at, we become more gullible, lethargic, obese and stupid. This one touched a nerve, thanks for the share!
