Re: I'm OFF!!!!!!

Hi Sue

I'm another forum old timer who has or should I say still having a major blip. I was on a plateau Aug, Sept & Oct I stayed the same weight. Nov came and I started putting on weight, couldn't finish a 30+ hr fast day and tried 19/5 for a week, found that too hard. I had stopped breakfasts back in Aug ! Dec all hell let loose, choc's mince pies ice-cream, Why, goodness knows, I'm not even keen on sweet stuff, I think my body was taking the p***. I had lost a lot of weight previous to starting 5:2 so last year it was slow going for me but I was losing, about 17lbs between Jan and Aug. Up to the begining of Jan this year I had put on 12lbs nearly wiping out my weight loss for 2013.
I stopped joining in with the Forum and was generally feeling sorry for myself, and I admit to being envious of the success stories on here, but I was pleased for you all, especially for you Sue because you started at a point where I was two years ago and I could relate to the things that you wrote about, the little things like getting into normal fitting shoes made me smile.
This is a lifetime journey for us Sue, we can't let a few blips get in the way of our goal which mainly is to achieve better health. I know I can't take my eye off the ball I have to carry on with my low sugar woe.
Someone once said go back to basics, could it have been Sue
So for the last two weeks I have done 5:2, still no breakfasts, I never really liked eating early, Bullet proof coffee is my breakfast.
Do what you feel you need to do Sue but carry on with the forum, reading yours and everyone else's posts has hepled to get my head straight again. I know what I have to do. We can all do it together with help from one another.
Take care Sue you will bounce back. Our bodies need these re-setting periods we just haven't got to let it get the better of us.

Thank you @Sue.Q for starting this thread. I too have stalled in a major way and have put on 2lb again, which I assume is water weight. I too am going to have to try and break out of the famine reaction and get back to losing weight. I do think its harder for us long term residents, the ones who have so much to lose and do it quickly at first and lose what other consider to be a massive amount of weight. To then stop whilst we are only just inside the ordinarily obese range, just below the morbidly obese range. To see the tracker estimate of your target date get later and later into 2015, its frustrating to say the least, especially as what I have already lost is only a third of what I need to lose to get to target. I still don't 'see' any difference in myself or my shape, I just have the clothes to tell me there is a change. But going from Extra Large to 'just' large isn't as good a feeling as saying you are a medium or only a British size 14, instead of still being in the size 20 range.

I am hoping that a reduction in stress at home coupled with some decent sleep (if I can get it) and having , finally, mostly emptied the freezer, cupboards and the fridge of the festive foods and associated junk food will give me a good start.

Stick with us, your kind words and encouragement are great to hear. So go and have a good nosh of some fresh, healthy stuff, get some decent sleep and start your walking again and we all look forward to seeing a smiley when you are back.

 OH @Tracieknits No wonder you're taking time out and you have good reason to hope you get well soon.

As I said my exercise/walking is almost non existent but I did do a short one this week to go with my back to basics but yes I'm freezing!!! but got some routine to do indoors for now, I'm not going on a binge eating session or anything like that because I've learned that in doing so makes us feel awful and when its over we have extra weight to shift, however as my Monday weigh-in was down I'm wondering if I may have under eaten this week so " confusion time" get burning!!!!

@Julieathome You are spot on there I never even noticed it until mid week but my "interim" goal should have been NOW and I also saw my goal weight once at August 2014 as you said now mines supossed to be next January!!!!
Absolutely NO-WAY. will I let it get any later I don't mind not making my goals but creeping a little closer would help.

I'll be back.

Hi @SueQ I think if we are realistic we can expect these phases to happen,at some time on our journey, it is then what we do to keep on keeping on which is important. At least by being on the forum we can be nurtured and supported out of our frustrating patches. I think the re feed is a good idea, it is what I am now experimenting with for my own situation to change thing a bit with my body and to also nourish and replenish.

All the thread offers good advice, so hope you hit on your particular solution. As has been said stay with us it is just a blip.

Hi lovely @Sue.Q - I am so thinking of you. You are always ready to step in and help me and lots of newbies and others, take all the time you need to get back on track and see what works best for you.

I have been so up and down since I started 5:2, and sometimes I still ask myself if this is really working - as you see, I still have a long way to go.

But you my dear, have come a very long way - all I can say is just keep on being mindful about what you eat about 80% of the time, and allow yourself a couple of treats.

Take care my sweet, but don't go off and away, stay with us, we need you.

cheers Maggie
