I pop in every day, but like the other maintainers don't really have a lot to say.

Yes, guilty as charged I'm afraid as I don't tend to post as much as I did last year although I still pop on most days to read posts that interest me. I'm happily maintaining too but still love the advice, knowledge and general camaraderie on this forum.
Thanks everyone for your comments here. for a moment i thought my imagination was getting the better of me. You know i found an old post of mine where i proclaimed that this forum was generating something like 10 new posts an hour. Its much less than that now and some of you may have hit the nail on the head. The irony is that the method is just so good that many have reached maintenance "nirvana", all discussions have been had, all fights done and dusted and the contraversy ... well there is no contraversy.
For the newbies, im guessing that can be a problem, but maybe they are just using the search button at the top and pouring through the discussion from 2. 5 years. Perhaps seeing so much back and forthing on topics, its all covered and they feel either reticent to say something in fear that someone will react.. well just look at the discussions from the past or maybe all their questions are answered both in thread and in the great FAQs here.. so by making this all such a good reference site, there is no need to discuss and carry on.
It's not a problem per se, just an observation.
I do find the "other" forum really active and i even had the audacity to post but i havent even seen if my post was answered as it all feels a bit unfriendly or clinical over there. There is an "Aussie group" but dont recognise anyone and i feel like im abandoning the family started by Moogie here. Might just pop in every now and then and see what is posting, maybe with the objective of raising discussion in there of something "new"
anyhow have a lovely day or evening depending on where you are in the world, and come back often as we are all very interested in your experiences, insight, technical knowledge and for a bit of fun.

Oh don't go to the "other side" Juliana @Juliana.Rivers it wouldn't be the same here without you!
I must admit I do miss a lot of folk who used to come on here a lot last year (shan't name them, but I miss you guys!) although I can't say much, I nearly gave up a couple of times. But in all honesty I'd be lost without my fasting buddies. I have made some special friends on here and so I don't plan on going anywhere soon.
Heres to another great year on FastDay. We can stick together

Yes it's quieter. I come on most days when I get time but find I don't have much to contribute. My time zone does not help either as when I'm on most people are sleeping. I don't see many new people hanging around because I don't think this version of the site is as good as it used to be as already mentioned here, whereas those of us who have been here for longer tend to put up with it because of the friendships which I echo. I have made some fabulous friends here.
As you can see (most days) I don't have much to say either!!
Good to see you Karen

I'm on here at least once a day. I think I'd suffer big withdrawal symtoms if I wasn't! Admittedly I don't always post but I'm always willing to read drivel @CandiceMarie .
Like others I come on most days, but now I'm maintaining, don't feel I have a lot to contribute.
Forums need a steady supply of fresh blood to keep interesting, and since the forum was redesigned it has become extremely hard for new people to join. The sign in process does not reassure you that you've actually signed in, so my guess is people probably come, attempt to sign in and leave. If they can even find the forum. And when you first click on it, at least from where I sign on, it takes a L-O-N-G time for the forum to come up. I wonder how many people assume that the whole forum will be slow and leave without trying it out.
It saddens me that the message volume is dropping because this is a friendly, intelligent place which offers a lot to visitors tired of the hype found elsewhere, but too much of the activity on the forum now is chit chat on non-diet related issues. That further discourages new people from joining.

I'm the same as everyone - come on here most days but don't have a lot to add. Also, I am in the dreaded Pacific time zone, which doesn't help.
I agree, the "not being able to skip directly to last post on a topic" IS ONE OF THE MOST FRUSTRATING THINGS ABOUT THE "NEW" VERSION OF THE FORUM !!!!!!

I too haven't been on here as much either as I find it harder to access on my ipad, although I do read every day.
I have been struggling with finding my own way through the fasting maze to find what works for me, and have done ever since I started, and still do, but I still find a lot of useful information on here, and try to support others as they embark on their own journey. It is difficult for me to give advice when I have found it so hard myself, but I do have something to offer on the emotional side of eating!
Anyway, if you have particular problems, give the Fastday team a hoy and let them know that. The forum is here for US, not the other way round!

I'm another maintainer. I've never been a big contributor but followed the old website avidly when I was trying to lose. I still dip in and out (and log my stats) but now my weight is under control I find myself moving on to other interests on the worldwide web. I am quick to recommend this site to other people who ask about my weight loss and how I achieved it. There is a mine of information available here for which I will always be truly grateful.

@lovemyparrotIf you go into Board Preferences - Display options, you can organise the threads to display by last post first. In the meantime, maybe we should set up a Pacific Chapter! Everyone is asleep when we are wanting to interact. So uber lonely isn't it, although at least this time of night our good friends in Australia are around
