Since we're confessing I might as well have a go. Friday was my fast day. I did fabulous all day until about 4 pm then six vodka tonics happened to me :?: Now it's Sunday and I'm still hung over :dazed: I'm sure it's because I drank on an empty stomach. So, 500 fast calories plus whatever those vodka tonics cost me! I hardly ever drink, thankfully that was just a fluke!

How about my day yesterday - breakfast: Bircher muesli, fresh fruit salad, cheese/ham/pickle, marmalade on toast, 2 apples; lunch: 2 poached eggs on toast with tomatoes and cucumber, large slice of Walkers Christmas cake incl 1 cm almond icing; dinner: 1/4 roast chicken and 3 large roast potatoes, large salad with peanuts and sultanas,10 Brazil nuts, pear and apple and berries; "supper": 2 shortbread biscuits, chocolate biscuit, Kiplings Bakewell tart, and small bag of lollies. Think that was it. Sort of alright nutrition-wise until supper... About twice my TDEE, if not more.

Do you all feel less guilty now??!!

Wotcha gonna do about it?!

Fasting today @Debs!! It seems to be my only strategy for managing my tendency to overindulge - oh how I wish I could find a strategy that works for me to prevent the extra intake in the first place. (I am composing an essay (!) on this to post in the mainteneers tent...). By all means bring out the wet fish!!

It is so easy for me to eat all those foods that I listed without registering a feeling of fullness - in fact I feel the opposite, I just want to eat more. :( That's why I needed 5:2 in the first place....

PS Unfortunately (?) it did feel like heaven...

Hello everybody
@Debs - that food looks yummy! Wow @Sassy1 - I feel full just reading all that.

I have been out of routine as I was away and only got back on Friday - and it's been a carb fest for two days!

Emotional eating again, I had four slices of hot buttered toast on Saturday morning, and then later a ham sandwich together with some sweet biscuits. Yesterday after having toast again for breakfast, I went food shopping and without blinking, I put a packet of hot cross buns into the basket, ate two whilst driving home, and a third later with butter! For lunch I had another two slices of bread with ham and cheese.

Later I made a batch of Bacon and Cheese muffins and had three, again with butter. I actually felt quite ill last night and this morning, a good lesson learnt, really why do I turn to carbs when I feel anxious or emotional?

My Son is getting married in December and I really need to lose 10-15kg and this binge eating is not going to help me. It starts now - back to strict 2 two fasts (going well so far today) eliminate the bread and sugar 80% of the time and stick to the healthy fruit and vegetables and the healthy proteins - fish, chicken and meat. :like:

I can do it!
cheers
Maggie

GMH wrote: @Azureblue the buns wouldn't have lasted till Easter so they HAD to be eaten  @Isis that's my normal weekend, is it bad???

No not bad Azureblue but for me it's really easy to add in lots of treat stuff like wine, puddings & chocolate & then I'm way over my TDEE

NUTS !!!
Thats my confession .. hundreds of the little blighters over the weekend .. what on earth was I thinking !!

After my run in earlier in the week with a family bag of Walkers Extra Crunchy you would think I would have known better .. but no .. they hop in my basket and then its a one way ticket to my tum !

I just crave salt .. probably as I have low blood pressure but I could have just had a bouillon instead couldn't I

Oh well plan of action ...

1 - Fast today
2 - Weigh in tomorrow and wail loud enough for @wildmissus to hear me
3 - Confess again on the Equinox Challenge ( there is no way I could have lost anything this week )
4 - Vigorously apply wet haddock to head in slapping motion ....

Hello Maggiee how exciting your son's wedding this year! But don't do what I did & assume that is plenty of time to lose excess weight unless you do easily lose weight. I ended up not losing the two stone that I had hoped for & looked very bottom/stomach heavy in the wedding photos despite extra exercise & wearing helpful underpinnings  Mind you I did also have holidays to eat through as well but I did feel embarrassed not looking as slim as I had hoped. However it was wonderful seeing one of my children happily settled & sorted! Wedding preparations are an exciting time so do enjoy them.

many thanks for the tip @Isis - my younger son got married just over a year ago, and I didn't lose any weight, and was so bitterly disappointed and disgusted with myself. I am determined not to let it happen with this Wedding.

My future DIL's mother is tall and willowy and exercises a great deal - puts me to shame really! But I started swimming (water aerobics) this year and go three mornings a week as well as a couple of gentle fitness classes and I try and walk a little bit (I am such a lazy exerciser) so by moving more and keeping a lid on the carbs, I hope I can look OK in the photos.

Thanks for your kind words and support.
cheers
Maggie

@Isis I nearly spat black coffee over my laptop " helpful underpinnings" that is hilarious

I have some of those but they wont go past my knees without the aid of a small crane !

@isis I often hold off until midday or so, then have my porridge. I've then got until 8pm to eat without missing out my beloved porridge. Which, to add to confessional theme, I have to add peanut butter to as well as blueberries. So nice. :victory:

STUPID question @GMH. Are you a dog walker?
Slightly less stupid question, who is Amanda Sallis, and what is her method?

wildmissus wrote: Last night we went to the chip shop. I had a large bag of chips with curry sauce. It was delicious at the time of eating but I felt crap soon afterwards and still do this morning, so I think I've had my punishment. Remarkably it isn't showing on the scales this morning but I'll just be careful today - no snacking.

@wildmissus I completely agree that junk food always tastes so good until your body starts processing it. I went to two parties last week where I ate mostly sweets (my drug of choice). The morning after the first party I woke up with a terrible headache and nausea, and after the second party I had indigestion all night. If only that memory could keep me from eating the junk the next time, or at least minimizing it!
