The Confessional
01 Feb 2015, 00:02
Thought I'd start a thread for the naughty behaviours. But not just a whinge-fest, but rather a what I've done and how I propose to change it positively. I'll confess first:

I have been seriously off the rails this past week. Madly busy with 12 hour days, torrential rain, walking around 20 dogs daily in this is frustrating! So because I felt sorry for myself, I ate anything, drank wine and failed 3 fasting attempts. I intend to turn it around by a) fasting today (even tho I'm not overly thrilled about it), b) go back to basics and make a big pot of delicious veggie soup to get me thru the week. c) I will also give myself a slap with the wet fish. Seriously it's ridiculous to eat like someone is going to cut the supply of food (Even if it's me fasting  )

Well we need @janeg to apply said wet fish, but I do know what it is like to do those sort of hours under stress. It can be hard to fast even though it is better to be busy (but not stressed).

Well done for giving yourself a talking to and good luck for next week. :clover: :clover: :clover:

Yep, I hear you ladies, I'm in the same place too!
I like that you have a positive plan in place to deal with it though! Good luck!!

I went overboard with wine, fondue, and tiramisu yesterday. I'm also fasting today. I'm considering an alcohol free feb with the exception of my time in the US.

First the confessions; I got through Christmas OK and proud of myself but then being summer here and holidays, then having visitors and missing my yoga classes as well as having to cook for guests and be at home more, I am at least 1.5 klgs over and worried about it. I am going back to yoga tomorrow morning and if I can't get rid of the excess in few weeks, will add an extra fast day.

You wanted it, you got it GMH!
My beloved and I went to New Caledonia for a week to celebrate a couple of occasions. Quelle horreur, all that French cheese, baguettes looking at us with their come hither expressions and I was undone. Not to mention the sublime patisserie. I won't, a picture paints a thousand words. Needless to say I am 2.5kg heavier.

Sacre bleu! @Debs. Sounds worth it, quite frankly   now you missed the important bit: what you gonna do about it?

Blast, you noticed
Well, I am fasting three days a week and eating at lunchtime as that seems to suit me better. On the third day I will probably go up to 1000 cals to make it sustainable. The other days I am following a mindful eating approach, of monitoring when I am hungry, my mood, what I want to eat and how much. I am also fitting in some exercise every day. I don't feel I can follow the Amanda Salis plan completely at the moment but want to use the principles.
We shall see!

There was this pack of 4 gluten free hot cross buns reduced price staring at me ... I ate 2 and OH the other 2 spread with butter :0p
I'm starting this month 2kgs more than I'd like to be so its 16:8 every day with a 24 hour fast on Fridays and look the other way in carb vicinity!

Last night we went to the chip shop. I had a large bag of chips with curry sauce. It was delicious at the time of eating but I felt crap soon afterwards and still do this morning, so I think I've had my punishment. Remarkably it isn't showing on the scales this morning but I'll just be careful today - no snacking.
