After all, our ancestors would have eaten their fill, and more, whenever someone made a kill - never knowing where their next meal was coming from.

So, Monday and Wednesday, fast; Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, eat; Sunday, feast. If you're trying to lose weight, just eat a little less on the NFDs to allow for a weekly feast.

Now that's a good idea! I hadn't seen this thread before, thanks @Debs!

Seconded, this cropped up in another thread a wee while ago - it's recommended in the mad Timothy Ferriss's book too - he does a planned binge on a Saturday. He reckons that, as you're going to binge sometime anyway, it is better to do it as a planned affair so that you can mitigate the ill effects as effectively as possible... Methinks he's got it right.
Martin Berkhan (spelling?) who is the leangains guy (what we call 16:8 + weight lifting) also says that "programmed refeeds" are essential to prevent leptin (the hunger hormone) from falling.
