It wasn't intentional by any means, but I ended up at a venue last night where that's all there was, and I couldn't go out to get real food as planned. Figured I'd still come in under the day's quota, just, and it didn't seem to be a problem at all. I mean, no falling over or anything. Wouldn't do it on purpose, but, well, these things happen! :o
As a bloke I was hoping from the topic title that it was a serious eating choice, perhaps we should move this topic to the Recipe section? ;)
Ha! Maybe you could the experimenting? I was surprised at how okay I felt, especially considering I had to wait til nearly 10pm, too.
Beer is really a meal in itself.. and isn't Guinness meant to be good for iron? And crisps have vitamin C (according to the back of a packet I once read) I like beer. I'll be ready for one tomorrow.
Guinness is a meal in my opinion!

As a lass, I was hoping the same thing!!!
I did hear about a bloke on one of the Facebook groups who'd been doing 5:2 to support his missus but sort of took the mick by only eating chocolate and booze for his 600 cals. Recall he lost weight too!
I only eat chocolate on my Monday fast day too - not 500 cals worth, around 300 cals and no wine, but I'm busy and it is a nice treat last thing in the evening.
I don't see what is wrong with indulging occasionally as long as you skip a meal to allow for the additional calories.
There was this guy once who ate his daily calorie allowance -10% (if I remember correctly) in chocolate and other sweets. He did this over a long period of time and he lost weight. Calories-wise, I guess it's a matter to stick to our TDEE. Health-wise, well, it's not the best... :-(
The Lindt 99% Excellence chocolate is only 13 cals per (small) square. You have to really like the chocolate rather than the sugar though. (I do!)
I do too!!!
Ok so not real beer, but supermarkets sell a brand called equator it's claim is 0% alcohol, 0% calories and 0% sugar. In fact it has just under 10 kcalories and can legally say zero calories somehow. Anyhow did a taste and visual test with this, cobra zero and becks blue (also 0%), all around £1 per bottle. IMO cobra won hands down but at 75ish kcalories it is a hefty lump out of the usual reduced intake and if you are out and trying to keep in the zone or home from work and want to enjoy the late spring sunshine (haha) this might be an option.
Just realised I bought 4 of each and only 1 left, yes the equator all happily drunk by my 17 y/o daughter perhaps another convert or did she just not realise! ;-)
By the way even though 0% the till still did a challenge 25 age check... wtf!!!
