Hi, I have just weighed and measured myself after the second week. So far I have lost a pound each week - good, but gained half an inch each week - bad. Anyone else experienced this?

No sorry! It's the opposite for me. I have lost eight and a half pounds in total, but only one inch off my waist, unlike many on here who seem to lose less weight but reduce their waist size by lots.
Good weight loss for you! I've lost a pound and a quarter this week. Just keep going and your waistline will sort itself out, I'm sure.

Strange! What day are you measuring/weighing in relation to your fast days? Are you measuring above your navel, on it or below. Have you suffered any digestive disturbance on/after your fast days?
I am trying to be consistent by measuring at navel level, and at the same time of day once a week.
Come to think of it I have been rather constipated since starting the diet (I am assuming that this will just settle down as my system gets used to it) so that might explain it, I guess.

Yes, some people get bunged up, others have the opposite problem! Making sure most of your calories on a fast day come from vegetables helps as they provide plenty of bulk for your digestive system to work on (and fill you up).
I have just checked the forum's stats pie-charts for women of my age bracket (46-62) and see that there is a bit of a trend there for those who started off in the healthy BMI range and have been on the 5:2 for less than a month...the waist measurement has gone up for about 4% of people. I may have misread the charts though but if not....interesting.
Just to say that I have finally started to lose waist inches as well as weight. I now have lost a stone in weight but only over the last couple of weeks dropped one inch off my waist; I guess I must have lost it all off my bum or something to start with! Still, as long as I'm getting there,
