Ok to fast consecutive days?
17 Feb 2013, 20:53
Hi,

Got myself in a bit of a muddle over half term. Have fasted today as skipped one last week and weight going up but want to go back to Monday and Thursdays so planning to fast tomorrow as well.

Is this ok? Am dreading it to be honest as thinking what I will have for breakfast the next day normally helps me cope with evening hunger but sure it will be fine.

I realise I am over thinking it, it's the rumble tummy driving me insane!
Can you not do Tues and Fri this week? If not, you may find your hunger decreases as people who do longer fasts say the hunger goes away.
Mon and thurs are really the only days that fit in this week. I am hungry but I think today will be ok as I can focus on how yummy things will be tomorrow :)
Please let me know how it goes as I am away for a long weekend at the start of March, I am doing 4:3 at the moment. I was thinking of just doing 5:2 that week but I might see about doing 2 fasts together.
It's not been as bad as I feared, I think I found the first day harder as I wasn't able to look forward to nice food the next day. Today has been pretty much like a normal fast day except my tummy rumbles have been a bit louder lol. I would prefer not to do 2 days in a row as I think I have been a lot more conscious of fasting today but I will do it in future if its all that fits in.
I never would - but then I plan my fasts a month at a time
Hubby and I have been doing consecutive days since August as he thinks it is better for long term improved health (which is why we started 5:2 in the first place). We have occasionally done non-consecutive days. Our weight loss seems to have been similar to other 5:2 'ers too. I am not sure that it makes a huge difference which days you do, but more importantly, we have not felt any different on day 2 (compared to day 1), not been any hungrier and the remaining five days feel the same (eg not ravenous), so yes, it seems OK.
