Thank you for everyone's replies.

Just to let you know, the customer who gave me the chocs did so when I was walking home for lunch yesterday (and he is also a friend) which is why they are in my house.

I work in the local furniture shop/funeral director (weird, I know....it's a small town thing!) and there is only me, the boss and one colleague. My colleague tends to eat healthily anyway and I know at the moment she would leave them for my sweet tooth, so in the end at some point I would cave in and open the box.

Mole3 - I'd be happy to share them with you but you couldn't live much further away from me.

PhilT - you're just a chocolate snob....but I know what you mean.

So here's the plan. Tomorrow (I don't work on a Friday) I'm going to put the least liked ones on the top layer and my favourites on the bottom layer. I will also count them all. So with four of us in the house I am already down to a quarter of them already. I will offer the top layer to the kids and me and my oh can savour the bottom layer.

I will post again tomorrow after I have counted them, when I will be able to work out how many days they should last.

This of course could be a fruitless experiment if I just eat the damn things!!

Ok, so this has been a bit of fun but it has been an interesting exercise.

I sorted out the chocolates into layers this morning and counted them - 50 chocolates, which is just over 12 each which at a rate of 3 a day should last 4 days. Realistically they'll be gone by Monday just in time for fasting day.

I then looked at the calories - 59 calories per chocolate. At three chocolates at a time that's a two egg omelette with a bit of veg on. My feast day breakfast is also less than that. This morning I had 30g Sainsbury's Rolled Oats made with water some tinned pineapples and a dribble of honey which came to approx 150 cal. So this puts the calorie thing into perspective.

Defo not for the cats! (that said, mine loves a bit of chocolate milk if I have a bowl of cocopops!)

Either share them around at work, but have a few for yourself or sort out the ones you don't like - throw those away or give them to the kids, then eat the rest a couple a day.

Another option which could prove beneficial is to have a chocolate day. Eat no meals, consume only the chocolates. By the end of it you'll feel sick and will learn (as I did a few months ago) that you can't stomach as much chocolate as you used to! You could call it a Chocolate Aversion Therapy day or something.
