General 5:2 and Fasting Chat

I know many 5:2ers don't like to calorie count on their normal eating days, however it is something I have decided to do this last week. I can honestly say I was shocked at how quickly calories add up when you aren't conscious of what is going into your mouth! For instance yesterday I fasted all day, knowing that I was going to have a nice meal in the evening. I used almost all my TDEE on a few samosas, curry (not a large portion), rice, naan and a few glasses of wine... imagine if I had had breakfast and lunch too.

One of my days I nearly reached 3000 calories due to a bake off at work where I purchased a couple of pieces of cake and ate them for breakfast.

I have therefore decided to continue putting everything into MFP.. I will have no calorie deficit this week therefore I should have no loss next week, but at least I know why..

Does anyone else do this, if not its worth a try even for a day or 2 if you tend to eat unconsiously and aren't losing anything.
Hi Yes I was shocked to, I also now use MFP, its a god send. Amazing how much you use up in wine and additions to your meal. BUT also really interesting as it makes you more aware of what your eating and how much. :)
You might be surprised...I have had good losses on weeks when I had eaten a lot on feast days!
You could be right... but it wouldn't continue I'm sure :)
