General 5:2 and Fasting Chat

First day on 5:2

So today i did my weights/measuremnts to start my first week on the 5:2 diet, my fast days this week will be friday and sunday so im kinda looking forward to them, but at the same time im not! haha


I now have the week to get meal ideas for those days [altho last night, i dreamt i ate apples all day haha]

Off too work in a bit, gonna be making healthier choices on my feed day too, without depriving myself of course, thats why i dislike other diets, i dont work well with deprivation "you cant eat chocolate" "you must not have carbs" "do not have any fatty foods at all"

Im sorry, but if you tell me i MUST NOT have it, then im gonna have it, so this way i have the choice of eating what i want and if i have that bar of chocolate, or a fry up in work or a huge pasta meal loaded with cheese, thats ok....cos i have my fast days to make up for it and its not gonna hurt, its now about making sensible choices on my feed days and allowing myself treats if i fancy them, its how i work best and i hope this 5:2 diet really works for me, i have ALOT of weight too loose, so here we go!

Sounds like a plan! You're so right...whenever I've started a diet in the past the first thing that happened was that I would crave all the things I wasn't allowed!

I don't think denying stuff helps anyone, its about moderation.

Today I had shreddies with skimmed milk and sugar for breakfast
Chicken steak (breaded) and chips for lunch
I have 2 day old chicken stew with dumplins for tea when I'm home


Pretty much an average working day for me unless I'm in work before 8am then I have breakfast in work instead.
