My teenage daughter and her friend are baking cookies in the kitchen but it's my fast day :o I think I will have to avoid the kitchen at all costs. And maybe find a peg for my nose when they go in the oven as well.
It's my 4th fast day and its been a bit tougher today. That might be because I had a big roast dinner last night and I'm sure I feel hungrier the morning after a big feast. I've also not been as busy as my other fast days. I took myself off shopping before lunch to take my mind off things and spent a fortune :D It did the trick for a few hours
Only had a bowl of homemade veg soup (90 cals) and a Highlights hot chocolate (40cals) so far. And only intend to have a plate of salad (leaves and veg mostly) for dinner.
How very inconsiderate of them!
Oh that's just cruel!
They're all at it! My 13 yr old daughter just came back from her cooking club wafting cheese and ham muffins under my nose! :o

It's not a fast day here but I have just made a lasagne and am trying to be measured!

Agreed to have a taster, Mary Berry style but explained that her Dad and I won't be eating them tomorrow as we're trying to eat less (fasting). Hard to explain to a teenager and don't want her to start fasting/dieting.

Think I got away with it! There's always the freezer!
Oh cheese and ham muffins sound delish!!!

When I started this new way of eating I decided to test it fully so I don't restrict myself on Feast days. Michael Mosely was on Radio 2 this afternoon and suggested that your eating habits and cravings should naturally curb themselves after about 3 weeks on the diet. So I'm holding him to his word and we'll see!
My biggest problem this morning was that Mr Pixie bought a pack of crumpets and balanced them in the cupboard so they fell out at me everytime I got a teabag

...tomorrow I shall foil his evil temptation jenga and eat crumpets
I'm still not sure what I'm doing in non-fast days.

I'm trying to be guided by my hunger and what I want to eat (not what I feel I should).

Today I missed lunch and had some nuts and berries, yogurt. Later, I really felt like a treat and had some tea and cake but it was all very controlled.

I'm trying to eat better but eat what I want so I don't feel restricted. That way I'm hoping fast days will seem worth it. It's only my second week and fourth fast tomorrow so it all still feels like a big experiment/step into the unknown.

That said, homemade cookies smell so good - really the ultimate test for a sweet tooth! Good luck hope2pigs!! :D

Pixie, like your 'temptation jenga' game idea - Trademark it and submit to Mattel immediately!
Theres crumpets, white bread, christmas tree shaped marshmallows from an M&S gift box,a pack of 9 single finger time outs, rich tea biscuits and half a pack of digestives ... the challenge is work out what calories you have left and to extract a single decaf yorkshire tea bag without items falling out that are over your allowance minus the milk for your brew ;)

I'll go sketch a few things out and phone Dragons Den
Hmmm ... Time Outs... Stop it!!!!
I'm gonna stop him buying petrol ... thats when he buys all kinds of bad things :o
Why doesn't he put all the contraband in a box so you don't have to look at it?!

I have just seen the Bakewell tart episode - I'm one behind - made me really peckish now ...
That's interesting about the appetite changing after 3 weeks. I have been eating like I normally do on my non fast days and suspect I won't lose much weight but am hoping my appetite will reduce as time goes on. There's no point me calorie counting on the other days really as I know that is something I can't do long term.
Just had one of the chocolate chewy gooey cookies my daughter made last night - it was well worth the wait! (apologies to anyone fasting today! lol)

Finished my 4th fast day yesterday and for the first time didn't get the hunger pangs around 9pm. Also wasn't all that hungry this morning. If fact only just had my breakfast at 9.30am
Oi! Yes I AM fasting today! Watch it! :o

Well at least I'm enjoying my apple and cinnamon tea...

My fourth fast too and yes, morning hunger pangs gone. Funny, eh?
I must be strange. No I know I'm strange. Sometimes I bake on my fast days. I enjoy the wafts because I know I can look forward to it tomorrow. Last week I made marmalade on my fast day and realised I was going to be short of bread so I baked that too. Next day feast day breakfast sorted.
