So I weighed in last Saturday out of curiosity and I had gained 1 lb :frown:
Went back to 5:2 last week, just weighed again this morning and have stayed the same, 1 lb heavier than I was 2 weeks ago :frown:

I think I'm going to go back to calorie counting for a few weeks to check that my feed days aren't getting out of hand.
I was getting frustrated at only losing 1 lb/week, now I'd be happy to get that back!! Moral of the story; if it ain't broke, don't fix it
Hi Jenny

I can totally understand that you feel dissaponited with your results after changing to 4:3
I myself had been doing well, slow and steady on 5:2, losing like yourself average of 1lb a week.
But like you I wanted a bit more weight loss for Easter so did 2 weeks of 4:3 and lost .5lb each week.
I even remember fearing that i'd somehow mess with the rythmn of the diet by changing to 4:3,
So I can completlely relate to your sentiments, if it ain't broken don't fix it!!!!!

However, let's not forget the positives that we've experiened along the way. I have never been on a diet whereI experienced such freedom, particualy at the weekends, to indulge in my favourite foods and drinks and still lose weight (no matter how slowly)
For my own part, I don't think I could back to the obsessive calorie counting roundabout that I was on for many years before discovering 5:2

But you must do what feels right for you.
If you feel the need to calorie count for a while, maybe revisit 5:2 after a week or 2.
There'll still be plenty of us here.

Good luck, what ever you decide to do
I feel that 4:3 is not for everybody and for everytime.
Last week, I got the chance to squeeze in a 3rd 32-hours fast (instead of the 36-hours that I do twice a week) and saw no difference.
I have a feeling though that if I was able to fast yesterday (plus another 2 times) instead of today (plus one more time), after the HUGE meal I had on Sunday, it would certainly make a difference and I wouldn't gain the pound that I did.
Mind you, yesterday the scales showed that I gained a kilo and today I had lost half of it, only by eating in moderation.
I think that for us who don't have much to lose and don't binge every other day, 5:2 is good and 4:3 should be used as a... cure to overeating once a fortnight.
Thanks guys :-)
Went back to normal 5:2 last week and I kept a food diary on MFP to check I wasn't going overboard on my feed days. I kept to around my approximate TDEE of about 1600 cals each feed day (which has included wine, pasta and cake) and under 400cals on my fast days and guess what? 2lbs off hooray back on track :-D
Normal service is resumed and I declare not to mess with the system again LOL!!
Great! Perhaps you were eating over your TDEE and didn't know?
That's interesting as I've been doing the 5:2 since Feb abd got a bit stuck with weight loss the last 2 weeks so decided to do 4:3 this week, however I couldn't resist weighing myself after the second day and I had lost 2lbs! Am still doing day 3 today so will see out of interest if that makes any difference tomorrow!

I'm trying not to weigh myself too regularly but sometimes I can't resist!

It's definitely the easiest way I've ever lost weight, I've averaging about a lb a week too which is great, keep it up!

I think I might have been, although I was trying to be especially good on my 4:3 week.
Anyway, it's done now and I'm feeling more optimistic. Just 1 lb away from my first interim target. Bought myself a new pair of size 12 skinny jeans last week as my old ones are getting too big and baggy, always a good feeling
YAY! New jeans!
Where did you get them from? My favourite skinny jeans are from New Look.

Only Tesco  Impulse buy, better than crisps or chocolate though I suppose
Sounds perfect! I haven't been clothes shopping from Tesco but I'm known for emptying half the selves of George in Govan's Asda.
So, are the clothes of Tesco worth a trip? I usually stay in central London and there is no big Tesco near me.
It's not too bad, similar to George stuff so great when you're there but not sure I'd make a special trip. The quality isn't great but I'm planning on them being too big for me in another 3 months or so anyway ;-) It's brilliant for cheap stuff for the kids who grow out of them in 5 minutes!
IMO Sainsburys is the best for supermarket clothes though, good quality and they wash really well.
Sainsbury's noted. I always do my shopping from the Westbourne Grove or the Camden ones but haven't seen any clothes.
