Hi Jenny I'm a teacher too and in 5th week of 5 2. This is the first holidayIve experienced in this WOL and am having trouble finding a day to fast. I did half a fast on Thursday (last day of term) as I went to a colleagues leaving do at lunchtime and there was food! OH and eldest daughter have both been at home this weekend and so things are not ging to plan. Lets not feel failures but accept that we work intensely during term time and need to kick back a bit during holidays. I've declared lat week a 61 one and will try 52 this week (tricky though s I'm meeting friends Wed and Thursday evenings and then have a big family weekend for the ice hockey playoffs.
Never mind. Term time will come soon enough and the routine it brings! Good luck!

Why not just try to skip a few meals here and there? I did this over xmas and avoided gaining weight. A break from restrictions can help your metabolism anyway, so I'd just concentrate on not gaining!

Yes, lets see it as a bit of a break for the holidays and get back on it.

Yep, I've tried that but find that during the hols I enjoy a few drinks (don't really drink much during term time) and then get the beer munchies. Think I'll just have a break from 5:2 this next week as it's going to be so difficult to stick to with quite a few sociable events planned and get back to normal the week after.
Presumably you don't drink beer before breakfast? Skipping breakfast could save you 300 cal....just a thought...
In the long distant past I was also a teacher, one of the most exhausting and all consuming jobs you could ever do. You deserve your break and if you feel like kicking over the traces a bit then why not? Plenty of time for your discipline to return when term starts again. No guilt allowed on 5:2!
"The beer munchies"... LOVE IT!!!
Thanks Caroline. I'm going to try skipping breakfast if nothing else this week.
On a proper fast day today and its going well. OH is at home and being very supportive. We're at home all day as the gas board are fitting a new boiler. At least I have to stay out of the kitchen as fitter, electrician and brickey are all in there!

How can you be a failure? You're socialising, having fun, well earned down time and have things to look forward to.
I second all that janeG says -
Jenny enjoy the rest of your Easter break - re-group when it's over !
