Does anyone know the truth behind waiting for your food on fast day having better results on the scales?

Is it something to do with fat burning?
We don't know yet...maybe the forthcoming questionnaire might answer it. The theory is that eating may take you out of fat burning but if you are keeping to under 500 cal you will likely return to fat burning quickly. Whether the period out of fast burning is long enough to have any significant effect on weight loss is another matter. The main reason for waiting is that many of us find we are less hungry if we don't eat but not everyone finds this. Another potential benefit is that you may get more autophagy but that is not connected with weight loss. I don't think its worth struggling to do if you find it hard but if you find it easy then it might give some small benefit.
The longer the better, that's my motto. I only eat supper on a fast day.
