Good luck tomorrow Claire and Pip. I suffered quite badly from headaches to begin with - put it down to lack of caffeine / carbs so spread my cals over the day and continued to drink tea/coffee with milk (out of my allowance). I've now adjusted (took a couple of weeks) and can easily go the whole day without eating - but do continue with my luxury of tea/coffee with milk. Hope tomorrow's not as bad for you - you WILL adjust to it - take some painkillers and give yourself time to get used to this WOL. I'll look out for you on here tomorrow too (whilst I'm working) and see how you're going. Good luck to you both

The mass reduction in caffeine probably had more to do with your headache than the food. Have 2-3 coffees tomorrow spread out over the day - or some tea since it's often got a similar amount of caffeine. I'd be a little wary of the pineapple - it's quite a high-sugar fruit that might spike your blood sugar and make you feel worse an hour or so later. If you want fruit, raspberries would be a better option. Or see if you can pick up one of those snack packs of veg sticks with a little hummus. M&S even do little prawn dippers that would take longer to digest. Or if you want to take something with you, a boiled egg is an awesome 80 calorie snack.
Each successive fast does get easier... so stick with it. Remember, if it gets truly imposisble, have a little something and go over a little for the first few times. Even if your first few fasts end up being closer to 7/800, it's still better than not doing anything at all!
I'm fasting tomorrow as well. I'll be here all day since I'm expecting a phonecall and a parcel so I can't live home. I'll probably do some housework too, since I can't do much else...
Claire, have your coffees as usual. Caffeine withdrawal can be really bad.

You live and learn. It happened to me after a water&syrup fast. I got the most horrible migraine towards the early evening and I called my mum in panic. She said "have a coffee". I did and I was A-OK in 10 minutes.
Similar thing happened after 5 days of the Dunkan diet and I had pasta and my migraine was gone in half an hour.

I know that lots of people don't eat anything at all during the day and save all their calories for the evening. However, I have been eating porage for breakfast for years and carried on on this diet, made with skimmed milk it comes in at under 200 cals. Some people say that breakfast wakes up the hunger fairy, but personally I have found that I have my breakfast, then get on with the day with plenty of drinks, keeping busy is best, and then it's surprising the number of delicious recipes you can find at around 200 cals plus veg, today I had "sticky lemon chicken" with carrots, cabbage and green beans, and enough calories for 100g of strawberries. I don't think I could have managed 22 fasts by going all day without fuel - have a busy job and manage pilates/swimming or riding on fast days with no problem - I've lost over a stone and reached my target so it still works really well if you have breakfast. Good luck, and I hope you manage to stick with it for a bit longer.
Everyone reacts differently to food, how much, how little, when--fortunately there are enough people here to get a variety of ideas. All you have to do is pick and choose and experiment. It's great!
I would agree with checking to make sure you are getting a lot of liquids--it's easy to get dehydrated on a diet and headaches are often an indicator. An abrupt reduction in caffeine also leads to headaches.
Just find what you can live with and keep on doing it. Don't get discouraged. We've all had a lifetime to get in the shape we're in and, God willing, we still have a loooong time to enjoy the pathway to better health that we've chosen.

I didn't look forward to my fasts first couple of weeks but now I do, feel ready for the Tues one after 4 days of normal eating. I probably always go over a bit on calories but reckon I do on normal days so it's all relative (quarter of what you normally eat). Stick with it. Maybe you should have some of your calories at breakfast?
I get headaches if I don't spread my meals out on my fast days. 75 calories for breakfast 80 for a snack, 100 for lunch,210 for supper... hope it works this way. Just did 4th fast day.
