Bit of a Dodgy Tum!
30 Jan 2013, 11:04
I did my last fast on Monday and was ok yesterday although when it came to my evening meal, I was not really that hungry and just had a piece of salmon with veg and new potatoes.

This morning I woke up feeling a bit yukky and not quite right.

Wondered if this was just a reaction to the fast and if anyone else has experienced the same.

The salmon was cooked properly and cant think of anything else.

Hi Wildpasty

I was just asking my husband this morning if he had experienced a dodgy tum. He said no but I have slightly.

I also fasted Monday and didn't feel hungry yesterday. I ate quite a big meal of pork, potato and a large portion of vegetables. I felt massively full - it was more than I needed and felt bloated all evening. Bit dodgy this morning!

I think I'm still adjusting to this way of eating and need to eat smaller portions when I'm not fasting. Also, I clearly don't need to load up on veg when I'm already eating meat and carbs in a meal. It's more than my digestion can take! :)

I'm still experimenting.

I did yesterday on a feast day too. Ate too much and am actually looking forward to Thursday fast. I'm thinking it's my body adjusting & realising it doesn't need the quantity & type of food I was eating before. stupidly looked at scales this morning and up 2lbs in one day ! I know this will even out over the week and am now going to weigh myself once weekly only !!

Sheilygee - I could have written your post myself! Weight up and down all week (must stop jumping on scales) and not sure what/when/how much to eat!
I'm sure we'll get there in the end! :)

I've had a bit of digestive upset after fast days too. Varies between too fast digestion and too slow IYKWIM! Today, my post-fast feed day things seem to be normal, so I think we do adjust. Fasting seems to give the whole body a good shake up!

Yes, I'm the same, sheilygee. I keep checking in case I have lost 5 pounds overnight or some other miracle! :D Must stop as seeing the variations is not very helpful, is it?

Edinburgh is looking pretty dark, gloomy and rainy today. :( Hope it's better where you are! Did you get lots of snow? We missed most of it, much to my son's horror!

Caroline, yes I do know what you mean and too fast has been my problem! I'm sure it will settle down but I was asking for trouble with a large portion of sprouts!

Eek you get all you deserve if you have a large portion of sprouts lol bleugh.

Feeling a bit better now but probably the adjustment as you all say. Looking forward to my fast again tomorrow just need to plan what to have for my evening meal to mix it up a bit as I have been having the same thing. I am thinking Ainsley Harriott Cous Cous with a little cooked chicken and veggies.

My husband has had a sprout craving (I know - weird :D ) so I have been buying them.

I'm sure they are v healthy but too many is a bad thing!

Good luck with the fast tomorrow, Angela. I'll be doing it too. :)
