In the first two weeks, I lost about 7 1/2 pounds - great, right? I have been really good about my fast and feast days, yet I have put 6 pounds back on! What am I doing wrong? I have had pneumonia and I hurt my back again - would that make a difference? Any insights and/or encouragement would be appreciated!

I feel your frustration but you are right with regard the effect of ill health. It is likely to effect all kinds of systems. This diet is notorious for huge fluctuations so try not to get hung up in the scales ( I am finding this difficult myself!!)
I keep reminding myself that 3000 calories is about a pound loss. So there is no way you overate by 21000 calories last week. By the same token you probably wouldn't have used/under eaten by 21000 in the 2 weeks. Give it 4-6 weeks and use clothes as your measure.

Both those things will throw your whole system out of whack. Do not be discouraged. Instead you might be 7 pounds over where you were a month ago, right??
Caro has it right. Most of those 7lb were water and probably all you regained was water. It's not really possible to know what is going on by just weighing once a week. You need to look at the longer term picture and also measure yourself. My weight went slightly up last week but my waist went down so I must have lost some fat. Keep the faith and give it 6 weeks minimum!
Keep to the positives VJK. A 7 1/2 lb weightloss is great. I am sure that you will drop this new weight once you are fully well.
Thanks all - I will try to stay positive and focus on the health benefits, not just the scales!
