Why is it?
31 Jan 2013, 12:28
Why is it that as I was fasting today, I told my kids that they would have to cook their own meals as there was no way I was cooking them and fasting at the same time, and I end up being the one who has to clean up the kitchen! :?

Despite this, fasting has been a good thing for the kids as my son (18) is usually too lazy to cook but necessity and hunger has made him ask how to cook things himself.

Well, they did do what you told them to. They cooked for themselves.

Yes, you have to word things very carefully with teenagers! "cook and clean up after, for yourselves"

Put the oven on to bake some jacket potatoes tonight, after a few mins smoke starts pouring out...the consequences of letting DS cook himself a sponge pudding yesterday
