I'd like to thank everyone who has posted on this topic. It's great to see how responsible and concerned our members are, and it makes the 'job' of being a moderator so much easier. No need for me to say more...

AJ225, I took ephedrine to lose weight in the form of a diet pill back when it was available in the US. I remember even having it as an additive in smoothies. I rather miss it! It did a great job of boosting energy and suppressing appetite, and I didn't have any of the negative side effects. BUT...once I stopped taking it the weight rebounded right back on. :frown: I stopped taking it not because of the ephedrine but because other meat based ingredients didn't jive with my being vegetarian.

I too think you should give 5:2 a try and ditch the ephedrine. I'm seeing as good or possibly even better weight loss results with 5:2, with the added benefit that it is sustainable long term. One of the many aspects of this WoE that appeals to me is that it looks like maintenance should be a fairly easy transition. I'm hoping at least!
