Not overweight?
31 Jan 2013, 15:17
I realise that the vast majority of people are going this diet to lose weight but I was wondering how many people are doing this for the health benefits. I am 5'4" and 9 stone 11 so not overweight but if i got down to 9 stone 7 I think that would be a healthier weight for me. I have a history of heart disease in my family and thought the health benefits from hopefully losing some visceral fat would help me not to go down that road. I also like the thought of reducing my cancer risks as well. Is any one else doing this plan similar to me. Would love to hear from you :)

Hi catgirl

Yes, there are a few members who are in it for the health benefits only. I think there is a thread about it somewhere...

I'm following this diet for health reasons. Before starting I was overweight and I am happy with the weight I've lost, but I did not set out to lose this much. I started at 12.8 and would have been happy at 11-11.2ish.

Both my parents died from cancer, as did 1 set of grandparents. I also have high blood pressure, not really high, but high enough to have to take drugs to keep it in check. I am hoping this diet will allow me to stop take the bp medication and reduce my risks of disease now and in later life.

Wow you have lost alot of weight. That's amazing! I have to admit I have my doubts that i will lose any at all but first weigh in tomorrow so we will see. Isn't great that there's a diet that will help us look good and keep us healthy as well? :)
