Cant manage another crumb!
03 Feb 2013, 20:43
So today has been my fasting day. I choose to fast for 24 hours before having my 500 calories. So going all day with no food except 2 litres of water and 4 black coffees (no sugar) i sit down this evening with my side plate portion of food and i struggle to eat it all. I've had a couple of occasions when my stomach has rumbled and i've had definite hunger pains and i really thought i would clear my plate of chicken and vegs. But no
Why does this happen? Surely my stomach hasn't shrunk? :?

So what is the science behind that?

So, a quick google later, apparently your stomach stays the same but your appetite regulator is reset for smaller amounts. :-)

Hmmmm so your brain is tricking you into thinking your stomach has shrunk?

I think that the stretch sensors in the stomach wall become more sensitive too.
