What's your foodie weakness?
07 Feb 2013, 12:08
You're on the fast day; you have it all planned to the nth degree - and then, before you know it, you've eaten your nemesis.
:o

'I can resist anything except temptation', said Oscar Wilde.

What do you find it hard to resist? Mine's a mature cheese with some spicy chutney. Oh darn, that's set me off again...
Does it sound too smug to say I honesty haven't been tempted to break my fast yet in the 3 months I've been doing 5:2? I really think it is because I know I can have it tomorrow.

I'm fasting tomorrow so I hope I don't have to come back and report a lapse!
Like you I love cheese (Cathedral City) Mmmmmmm and poached egg on granary toast. I had my secong fast day yesterday which went really well, and today I am at my desk. eating a Bistro Sald (no dressing) with chicken breast, a handful of blueberries & cherries and a piece (approximately 20g) of CHEESE, well a girl needs her calcium!
I have a beef casserole in the slow cooker and will have that tonight with cauliflower mash and then I am off to do do a Body Combat Class and will then walk the dog..

All in a days work and Eating! :)
I agree with Caro above, on fast days I'm not interested in straying. Normally my one weakness is cake...and the other one is cheese...and the other one is marzipan...and the other one is wine, you get the picture.
oh, marzipan! I craved marzipan for weeks and resisted even on feed days. Then I made Bakewell tart. Didn't go mad but chomped my way through it- none on a fast day though! Do wonder if it made a difference...
As others have said: for me, the beauty of eating this way is knowing I CAN have it... tomorrow!
I've been ok so far not to break my fast day. I do fancy eggs on those days so tonight I will have poached eggs on toast and salad yum :). Chocolate can be tomorrow
For the first 10 fast days there was nothing that even tempted me, not a bit. I felt great and thought that I'd beaten decades of sugar and carb addiction. I felt immortal.

Then my wife baked a really nice chocolate cake for her and the kids and they proceeded to eat it in front of me. I held back and refrained from eating any but the level of willpower required was so huge that I fell back to earth with a big bump... :(

Ever since I've been looking at chocolate sideways. My wife saw the reaction the cake had and has hidden the rest. Apparently it'll only be eaten when I'm not in the house...

So, the answer to the question is: Chocolate Cake :)

James

EDIT: PS. I should point out that I'm more generally calorie restricting for a while to lose weight a little faster - so I can't really allow myself the cake tomorrow :)
