General 5:2 and Fasting Chat

Hello 5:2ers,

This is my first post and topic since Ive started 5:2.
When I first started I kept noting all the foods I ate on another website which most of you might know :wink: .
After one week I stopped with this since the feeling I have with calories in foods etc is accurate.
I stay below the 600 calories (2 fast days) by eating 1 piece of fruit at 12:00 and a meal in the evening, this works perfect for me, no hunger.

14-9-2013 will be exactly ONE month of fasting, here are some facts:
-184 CM height.
-start weight: 95 KG
-start BMI: 28.5 -> overweight
-current weight: 87.5 KG
-current BMI: 26.5 -> overweight
-goal weight: 83 KG
-goal BMI: 25 -> normal weight

Long story short:
My weight loss is in my eyes very fast (~1.8 KG per week), can this hurt?
I am feeling fine, have tons of energy, no headache's, its not even hard to hunger myself all day, can I continue like this??

Let me know what you think or experienced, if I continue at this pace I will have my goal weight in ~3 weeks but is it good "crashing" like this?
Hi and Welcome well done I'd say that's brilliant :like:
I asked a similar question to Caroees when I was being very careful because of eating out 3 times in one week !!! My being very careful paid off with a 3 kg lost that week !!! and she said well done + ok.
I'm sure your body will catch-up and the losses will slow down.
But like you I've found this WOL Amazing with absolutely no side effects whatsoever :heart: never felt better which is just as well coz I've a very long way to go but as you can see it is really working for me.
:heart: Good Luck. :clover: Sue. :clover:
It sounds OK to me, we are all different so enjoy your good luck at losing quickly. The only time I'd worry is when I got to a healthy weight and was still dropping fat, otherwise, carry on,

Ballerina x :heart:
I lose weight in "steps"...... sometimes I'll lose 3-4lbs in a week and then the next week I won't lose anything. I've lost 39lbs in 15 weeks so some would say it has come off too quickly. Personally, I'm not complaining... I eat far more healthily now than I ever have in my life and I took up running for the first time when I started losing, which contributes too. Everyone is different and if this is how it works for you, GREAT!!!
There was a recent article in a scientific journal about myths associated with weight-loss (someone posted a link in another thread but I'm too lazy to find it :oops:). Anyway, it said that there was no scientific basis for the standard advice to lose weight slowly...so don't worry about it. Most likely it will slow down soon, so enjoy it while you can and don't feel disheartened when it eases up!
the article was in New Scientist - if you type myths into search box top left you will find it (25th August), so fairly recent. :smile:
