General 5:2 and Fasting Chat

I'm starting this thread because in reading people's posts, a lot of people say that they do great on fast days, but have a hard time on feast days. So it seemed to make sense for people to have a place to check in on those days too!

I know that people call it different things - feed days, non-fast days, feasting days, etc. Whatever you call it's basically the days that you are not fasting. "Feasting" kinda sound like the opposite of "fasting" so I think it's a good title for the thread.

Of course, just because it's called "feasting" doesn't mean you should eat like it's your last meal. Ideally you should eat within your TDEE.

So, this will be a place where you can post about your plan for the day or how you did or how you blew it or if you are struggling and need some support to keep you from eating that chocolate donut!

Anyone can feel free to start it. Maybe if we post it enough the admins will give us our own forum for it!
I fasted yesterday (fairly successfully) and am "feasting" today. I have dinner plans with my sister-in-law, but I will try not to overdo it there. I'll try to order something fairly healthy.

I am teacher home for the summer, so eating in general is a bigger issue for me than when I'm working. I have plenty to do, so I will try to keep busy and not snack too much. I did stock up on a bunch of fruit and high protein snacks, so I hope those will help too!

Have a good day everyone!
If I'm using an eating window, is every day a fast day or a feast day? :?:
Good idea for a thread. I agree it is nice to have somewhere to go on non fast days. Thank you @cblasz I am on a fasting day but it was a small window and I feasted
I'm not sure @carorees! I guess it depends if you have a hard time with the part of the window where you aren't supposed to eat or if you find you eat too much or unhealthy food during the eating window!

But, you are welcome to post here any time you want!
Feasting here today too. sandwiched between two fasts. I've done pretty good for me today. A tablespoon of peanut butter, straight off the spoon. Followed by a salad with a bit of cheese and part of a slice of ham for lunch. I've just had a slice of watermelon an end of the day offer at Morrisons. A quarter of a watermelon for 20p, so I have 4 big chunks to get through. Just enough sweetness to satisfy a sweet tooth but not many calories for a big slice.
Dinner is lamb burgers, bread rolls for the lads (not for me), with home made wedges, battered onion rings and some kind of veg. I may make a bit of salsa to top the burgers with, a minty one would marry up nicely with the lamb.
All sounds delicious Julie! I agree watermelon is an excellent treat - very low in calories, but a little sweet and lots of water!!
Good idea @cblasz!
I find normal days are where I go wrong!
Today I ate more than I needed at breakfast and lunch; good food, but too much of it.
It's about portion control, it should be simple!
Breakfast: two soft boiled eggs, batons of one carrot and one stick of celery, fresh decaff coffee.
Lunch: salmon and salad, drizzle of olive oil.
Dinner: brown rice and veg, natural live yogurt.
Peppermint tea and water this warm summers day.
Doesn't sound very interesting but quite satisfying :0)
Not so much feasting as hoovering everything in sight. Will be more moderate tomorrow and then fast on Saturday to make 3 for this week....well, that's the plan anyway.
