Bloated tummy
14 Mar 2013, 21:42
I'm at the end of a fast day & only slighty peckish - that's not a problem .... but why is my tummy SO bloated?

I've drunk 1,5 litres of water today & had plenty of wees.

This is not the first time I've had this excessively bloated feeling, but I couldn't say if it's always fast days or not (at leat thanks to this post I now have a reference for the future!)

Nothing to do with 'cycles' by the way, menopause started 10 years ago aged 39

Any experience of this, or advice?

Thank you

I've had that feeling before. Usually because my plate of veggies for my single meal was so huge I ate too much! Could it be that?

I must admit, I do get a bit, erm well, windy on fast days
Assumed it's just because there's less food and more air in my system.

I'm finding a lot of bloating and gas on the day I break my fast. Today is the day after my 2nd fast day. I do enjoy my coffee and a protein bar first thing. It's a tradition I enjoy while I check my email. Today, some bad cramping :(. 1st break fast day, I did ok first thing but about mid day I had bad bloating that lasted until the next day (I did eat a bit more as I had a workout scheduled for that evening, and I historically get lightheaded with calorie restriction and exercise). It was like the foods didn't combine right in my belly. I would love to see some recommendations for foods specific to breaking the fast, so the digestive engine turns back on without discomfort. Thank you :)
