TERRIBLE WIND PAINS!
12 Feb 2013, 00:04
Hi,
Sorry to lower the tone but after not fasting last week as wasn't able to I decided to start anew today.
It was horrendous, started o.k with coffee for breakfast then a cup of soup with another coffee but as the day wore on started to get the most horrendous pains in my stomach and under my ribcage.Presumed it was trapped wind and took numerous windeze but to no avail and resulted in me leaving work early. It has only just gone following me going to my bed with a hot water bottle for a few hours followed by a hot bath although I still have pain in my shoulder.
My question is,is this something that has happened to other people,I was due to fast again on Weds but it has really put me off.
I have suffered slightly with trapped wind on other fast days but nothing like the pain today,it was horrendous!
Thanks for any help

Sounds to me like your stomach was trying to digest food it didn't have. Is windeze also an antacid? If not might be worth trying one. Will try to find out if fasting is known to cause stomach pains.

There's a yoga pose that can help release trapped wind.

I had this in the early days, under the ribs. In the new year I impulse bought a shiatsu massage pillow for my knotted shoulders. I used it every night before I went to bed whilst watching TV. One evening whist in pain I put the pillow on my stomach for 5 - 10 mins. Wow - lots of gurgling and I could feel everything moving down. It has kept me bloat/wind free and I 'move' regularly. With being on holiday this week I haven't bothered to use it. Yesterday was fast day, today no movement and terrible lower abdominal pain!!! I also find Andrews or Jaaps very good as well.

Thankyou for your replies,I have had another attack today on not a fast day and had to see the doctor. He thinks it is gall bladder so nothing to do with fasting but will have to wait and see how it goes.
Going to try another fast day tomorrow and hopefully will not have the pains.
