All I want for Christmas is ...
03 Dec 2013, 09:38
 No, not my 'two front teeth', (for those of you old enough to remember the song!) :musical:

I'm not really into jewellery, most perfumes give me a headache and I've enough toiletries to sink a battleship, so as I've been an exceptionally good girl  I'd like Santa to bring me

a spice rack filled with exotic spices
a pestle and mortar for said spices
a Hairy Dieters cookbook (to try some of said spices!)
oh and a pair of leather gloves!
So what's on your Christmas wish list? :present: :present: :present:
A kindle paperwhite. I use OH's original kindle at the moment, but I have decided I now want my own
...some warm clothes! All my winter woollies are far too big and have gone to charity, but now I'm freezing!

Great choice Karen! BTW, loving your new cutie avatar! :like:
A new laptop as this one is at the end of its rope and a pair of high heels to the knees deep brown leather boots.
I developed a new musical crush over the weekend   Julian Koster

All I want for Xmas is every CD by every band he's ever been involved in.

And some knee high boots.

I LOVE my kindle, you will be very happy with it, also, love your new Christmas avatar! you look SO cute with that hat on

The thing about being older, did you notice I didn't say OLD, is that you usually have everything you want or need, so presents are difficult but as hubs has upgraded his iPhone and I now have his old(er) one I want a glitzy! blingy cover for it, so I have ordered it. I usually buy some little things that I quite fancy, wrap them up and get him to sign the card, the first year I did this he asked what was in the wrapping so I told him he'd have to wait til Christmas to see what he had bought me, in reply to his puzzled look I told him that one of us might as well be surprised

I would really love to win the lottery but after reading how all the big winners are splitting up and getting divorced I'm now grateful that we only won £10 the other night

Ballerina x
Glad you like my new avatar. Carol has put me in the festive mood with this thread.

So we normally spend Christmas in Mallorca. But this year we are going for new year instead. Normally being away is enough of a pressy and as you say Ballerina, we want less as we get older. Anyway we have a ritual where we go shopping in Palma for a small stocking filler each ( only one) and so we split up, go looking for something and then meet up for a coffee. Now Palma is not that big and so it's easy to bump into each other by mistake. One year at the checkout of a certain store, OH came in, didn't spot me but walked up to the counter opposite the exit and started a conversation with one of the staff. So I was blocked. I asked the assistant serving me if I could hide, so she allowed me round the back and I hid in the stockroom. Now OH is not a speedy shopper. I was there for a good 20 mins. Me thinking, ooo, I'm going to be having something v nice from here, but he left empty handed :curse:

The staff were brilliant. They played along, joking with me in the back, and apologised for not being able to sell him something!
For Christmas I want to find the balance of willpower to allow myself some festive treats but not to over-indulge so that I'm grumpy because I know I shouldn't have eaten what I did. I've got to admit that it will be hard for me, not being able to pick and "chews" like I normally do and to not feel hard done by at the end of it all but I've done it before. Years ago when I was following SW, I actually LOST weight over the Crimbo period - so I shall aspire to find that strength again.

I'm not big on material things, to be honest. Dom (OH) and I haven't bought prezzies for each other for years - due to a financial hiccup and having the horses who are all fund-suckers - a little post-it with a handwritten "I love you" left somewhere for me to find means so much more than a shop bought card any day. I'm a terror for my kids because they all ask what I want and I don't really do smellies... they know better than to buy me chocolate these days - although I HAVE asked one of them for the Hairy Bikers dieting cook book this year....

At the risk of sounding schmaltzy... as long as my family remains happy and healthy, then I'm a happy bunny too.....
Well I'm glad it's not just me looking a bit blank when asked what I'd like!

Though a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 phone would give me a thrill . . . Probably have to sort a deal out for that myself after crimbo.

I know OH has got me a sewing box as I helped select it, old one falling to bits and a bit small so needs must. I do like gifts to be useful and beautiful if possible.

Hubs has a similar requirement for the woman in his life, so far he has a success rate of nil, what a shame......

We don't have gifts among the grown ups any longer, better to buy them yourself so you get it right LOL. The kids are going up and all Sam want is two PS3 games and John have no idea.

What I hope for is that my latest quilting related purchases from the USA and a large books of books from Amazon.co.uk will arrive before the holidays, so I can keep myself occupied during my vacation time.

Hmm, what I really would want from Santa it's that he puts us back in Fort Myers (Florida) where we was last Christmas. Living in Sweden this time of the year is soooo depressing ;)
All I want for Christmas is a bloomin' good rest!
 We gave up on prezzy's to each other a few years ago as we go through the year getting the this we need from all the sales that are constantly on everywhere, and yes as you age you "gather" so much stuff, I'm also going to try and convince other family members to stop because we never know what to get each other, plus my sisters are into spa days and have joined them a couple of times this year since I've lost weight and have loved the experience so I'm going to suggest we have spa day's with the cash therefore we all get something we seem to enjoy

But my biggest want is to maintain over Xmas (no chance)

Will still obviously get children but not the adults :clover: Sue
Clothes, clothes, clothes  .. All my old clothes are too BIG - going 4 sizes down are really expensive, if you have to buy a new wardrobe .. luxury problem I know  but still my biggest wish for Christmas
