Christmas clothes
05 Dec 2013, 08:20
All this talk of Christmas got me thinking about the clothing issue.
Do you get something new to wear at Christmas?
Will you need to get something new due to 5:2?
Who will post pics of our new looks?

I bought a dress in a sale a few weeks ago, I'll wear that Xmas day  I have only bought myself a few new items of clothing to keep me going while on my weight loss campaign! I was able to buy a nice dress for all occasions and a party dress! Lost 3st 12lbs so far this years so the type of clothes I wear now has changed so much!

I've just bought a gorgeous long chiffonny dress (from the second hand shop) in size 12, which I'm thrilled with. Its to wear to a Christmas dinner dance on Saturday, then any other parties. I'll put up a pic after Saturday. I'm going to see my son in a Christmas concert next week, which probably warrants a new dress, I hope a lovely seasonally coloured velvet one, which would be perfect for Christmas day too. Last year I had a brown one, which I loved, but size 14, so I got rid of it a few weeks ago to the charity shop it came from

I'm looking forward to wearing a nice red sleeveless dress and looking ok on our(usually) hot Christmas Day.
I'm also noticing now that my legs don't ache after a busy day entertaining like they used to so another 5:2 bonus!

I'm waiting to collect a dress I've ordered (size 14!), which, if it doesn't make me look like mutton dressed as lamb, will necessitate new shoes as well!

We don't go to any formal events any more, so socialising is with friends and family, all very low key.
However, this year I'll look forward to 'dressing for dinner' with hub!

I will probably wear The Dress (which I wore for my Mum's party) again - even though we are at home, and not going out anywhere, will prob 'dress up' for meal, as it will make it more festive ... Also have the carers who weren't at my Mum's party and who won't have seen our dresses.

Am being nagged by @Ballerina mercilessly to post photos - but It is my sister who has any pics - and is not naggable ...

But will get hold of something somehow - so nearer the time, why don't we start a 'christmas clothes' thread just for photos???

I don't have too much going on this year so I'm re-cycling clothes from the back of the wardrobe I have liberated since 5:2. This one I have not worn for 3 years and as tartan is back, I'm thinking this will do, especially as I'm in the process of toning up my arms, I intend to show them off  . It was a bargain from Zara, yet it looks so much more than high street when on because it is quite stiff like taffeta!

However I could do with another couple of pounds off as it's still a little tight on the chest (and I'm flat chested!)

I got a gorgeous dress, not for Christmas day but for new year hopefully. I was quite disheartened when I opened it as I thought nope this is not going to fit...but it did! And it's a size 10! Never thought I'd see the day that my chunky thighs and bum would fit into a fitted size 10 dress :D

Love those colours, too, @rawkaren.

LOVE that dress, Rawkaren!!

I picked up a gorgeous LBD in a charity shop back in September - I paid a whole £6.00 (lol) but it still had the original tags on so never been worn. 'scuse my make-up-free scraggy face, I was just trying it on to show Dom....
