I have tears in my eyes, Moogie for you, but also because we will be saying goodbye next week to our beloved big dog, Jess.
You know you're doing the right thing, but it's so hard, isn't it? So pleased you've decided to give your love to kittens and Mum, who might otherwise face a very different life.
Your Phoebe was a lucky lady to be with you and be loved so much x

Well that's me in bits - so sad when we lose our treasured friends.

Glad you will soon have furbabies in the house again - they are good for the soul. We too await 2 new babies soon, 7 cats not being enough for us!

RainbowBridge.com

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I am so sorry Moogie to hear of your loss, I still miss my old 'Bagpuss' after fourteen years. Pets give us so much joy and that's worth celebrating.

So sorry for your loss Moogie, cats are awesome and 17 years is a great innings. Hope your new arrivals help cheer you up a bit. You never forget your pets, no matter how long it's been.

So sorry to hear your news-it is devastating when it happens. The new kittens will help you heal-but not forget. Hopefully the rest of the year will be kinder to you.

I am very sorry for you loss. I lost my sweet Haribo to a nasty Fibrosarkoma end of January and I also could not believe the emptiness she left in me. I waited a little bit and then found another old lady cat (8 yr) with sad eyes because she had been abandoned by owners with no time for her. Now she is my sweet Cookie, warming my feet as I write this. You did the right thing, those three will bring you lots of joy and happiness.

I am very sad to read of Phoebe passing on. {{{+}}}
I am glad you are able to take on a new threesome, not to replace but expand your cat family.
I am really pleased your OH is back in work.
Phew! This year can only get better for you now :0)

So sorry for your loss Moogie. We had to do the same for our 17 year old cat a few years ago and although we knew it was the right thing to do, it broke our hearts.

A few months later we adopted another two from the local rescue centre and they have helped to heal our hearts. They could never replace our old cat, but the love and joy they have brought has helped to fill the gaping holes in our lives and we love them both dearly.

We still miss our old furry monster, but we look back with love and happiness now, and not sadness.

Big hugs to you. This year can only get better.
