Dearest Moogie ,

I share your pain and know what it's like to lose a beloved pet ; Simba was the 4th of our cats over 40 years and she too crossed Rainbow Bridge just before Christmas. She was nearly 20 , blind and "losing her marbles". I console myself with the thought that , as a rescue cat ( as were all our pussycats !) she lived to a ripe old age in a happy home . I'm sure Phoebe wouldn't have wanted to be around longer, and suffering . Still , it's so hard on those left behind as I well know .

Am SO pleased you're taking on more kittens - I'm sure Phoebe would have approved ! It's a great compliment to her that you're willing to start the whole process over again ! Sadly , at our age ( mid -60s) , hubby and I have decided not to take on any more kittens . . . . . but our 2 daughters are cat - owners and already we've provided a kitten- sitting service when they're on holiday . . . . . . once a cat- lover , always a cat-lover !

And so to you , Moogie . I do hope you're making a good recovery . You've had so much to deal with health- wise . I'm sure the arrival of new kittens will be just the tonic you need !

With best wishes for your return to good health ; and enjoy your lovely kittens . . . !

I am so sorry to hear of your cat's death  my two cats died within a few months of each other in 2011 first Duck aged somewhere between 15 - 19 (he was a rescue cat), then my beloved little Arwen winkle who had to have the vet help her as she had kidney failure she was very nearly 19. I sometimes think that they know the right time to leave us as a week after she had died I adopted a rescue cat, my little Drizst. If Winkle had been alive I wouldn't have been able to let him live with me. I also believe that both cat's came back to say goodbye, Duck by rubbing past my legs and I saw Winkle jump from the outside window ledge after Drizst came to live me, she was happy i had a new friend. :cat:  I hope your new friends help you as mine has helped me.

Aww Moogie! I'm so sad for you. Its like losing a little bit of yourself isn't it? We always say never again but you cant leave a cat-shaped hole unfilled! I dont think you're silly talking to her. Both my cats return for vists. Polly stopped when we got our new kitties but Dinks still comes. Usually its at feeding times. I hear 3 sets of feet run down the stairs to the dishes. Its not just me thats crazy as the other cats look up in the direction of the sound too! We've decided that the catering facilities on the Rainbow Bridge must be below standard!

Glad to hear your scan was showing promise. We know from experience that it takes a long time for the scarring from the clots to resolve but each daybrakes you closer. They will likely get your warfarin balanced by the time you come off it!

Looking forward to tales of the new kits and their momma. You wait until you're unhooking them from the curtain rails. You'll wonder what you've let yourself in for. Its a shock to the system after a sedate adult puss cat!

So sorry that Phoebe had to go, but pleased that you've found some new felines to nurture. They are three very lucky cats!

Here's hoping that from now onwards 2014 will be a great year for you.

Aw, Moogie... I wish I knew what to say but I don't. I know the pain, words won't make it easy.

BUT, I was going to suggest that you could maybe consider getting another one and there you go! Mitsie and Molly look wonderful, they are teeny, tiny cuties and I'm sure they will succeed Phoebe with great success! I'm sure that you will never forget Phoebe but the new arrivals will ease the pain and talk to you back, morning and evening. :-)

So sorry to hear your news, just as well I didn't have any make-up on when I read your post! I'd have a house full of cats given the chance. Looks like you'll have a lot of fun with your new babies.

Just read this. Oh Moogie I am sorry. What a beauty Phoebe was too. Sitting here with tears in my eyes writing this. Thinking of Penny, too because its a sad time for her. I think you'll find that Phoebe's spirit will pass into your new brood...how good of you to take on 3. Who could abandon a mother and her babies? Poor things. At least they are now going to have a wonderful life with you...spoilt rotten no doubt

So glad to hear your health is improving. Lets hope thats the end of bad luck and sadness for you and happiness will take over.

Take care Moogie

Bean xxxx

I'm so sorry to read that she had to go off on her longest adventure, i'm sure she'll be with all sorts of moggie friends where ever she is! Like the pic of her with a birthday card, reminds me of when I used to do that with my cat castro, :)
