@moogie lovely to see you xx so sorry you're still struggling with yr health xx and with yr weight regain, tho at least you know its caused by ill health..unlike me,whose regains are purely down to greed/ lack of will power.
my health is poor, i' m 65, and i have an underactive thyroid, but am lucky enough to keep losing somehow, long as i stick to 5:2 plus TDEE.so why dont I! Any stress makes me eat..ive been anxious re DDs cat who shattered his pelvis in April ( I know you' ll understand our sorrow, being a cat lover yourself) and that has made me nibble. He's been on cage rest which he hates...only 2 more weeks to go then fingers crossed,he'll be his old carefree self, out and about.
The other forum..maybe i' m just used to here, but i find it hard to find my way round it..my loyalties will always be here with so many lovely fasting friends x x
@rawkaren ..Penny's Summer Gazebo! What a lovely name! X
Hi folks!
It's interesting how many of us who have been fasting on and off over more than two years are now struggling with weight gain regardless of technique. I believe our bodies/guts have more to do with this than our lack of will power, too much coincidence of at least half the original weight regained like me for many of us.
This week I'm pursuing 16:8 with low carb/good real food and 1400 calories a day max.
I have learned so much from everyone here and have been pointed in many fascinating directions, our constant hero being @Carorees who continues to succeed where others fall back. It shows there is a way forward if we can eventually find our best individual balance.
Here's to this onward journey together and what's our next challenge to be @pennyforthem?
:0)
I never go over to the other side. I love it here. I started 5:2 in April 2013, reached goal in February 2014 and have maintained ever since. It is a shame that it has gone quiet. How about some of us oldies bumping some old threads that might encourage newbies and lurkers to jump in? The thing about it here is that it is so friendly oh and of course, the other side doesn't have the learned @carorees
Well said Darling!
I too have been quiet, mainly because i have struggled to fast for a number of reasons which has been frustrating, but I'm joining Penny's challenge, and as Ramadan is coming up here soon I shall be enforced fasting anyway! I bet I shan't get as grumpy as others though!!
Yes well said @WendyDarling ... And @Debs you need to update your location, now you're in Doha, and not Tassie! And I'm issuing a call out to @Ballerina - no revival or summer challenge is complete without her keeping us all in check ... Or rofl!!!
:victory:   :victory:     Oh and I think a few more emoticons required ... What a shame we can't get animated streaker ones like on google ... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
sending lots of hugs to @Moogie - I didn't realize you were feeling so poorly! I'm sorry about that!

Well the good news is that two days ago, I was only up 4 pounds from my November 2014 low of 53 pounds down - today it's another 4, which I suspect is mostly water, but it's still frustrating. Still, I'm significantly lower than when I started fasting. So that's good.

On the plus side, I managed to not eat until 1:15, and then ate a low calorie broccoli soup. On the bad side, I ran into a friend who told me this little bakery in town that makes amazing French pastries and is only open on a sporadic or by appointment only basis was open RIGHT NOW and had the most amazing Paris-Brest pastries. So I got one >.< Google says my treat was about 350 calories, so not too terrible, but definitely unplanned and pretty inappropriate. That bakery does a lot of special orders, and they bake for our local Whole Foods, so they can afford to not necessarily be open all the time. This is a good thing as I am not good at resisting temptation.

This is why I'm still overweight. I acknowledge that. I know I should stop. But I just DON'T. Sigh.
@MaryAnn, start a topic with that title and we all come out of the wood work! It just goes to show that we are all still here but just reading perhaps.

I am on here 2 or 3 times a day but I am terribly guilty in not writing anything. @Hazelnut20, my buddy, has just started a buddy thread called Wild 'n' Nuts so that we can be more accountable for what we put in our mouths and I'm sure we can have a bit of fun as well - all welcome.

I am also one of the many that is struggling and a bit fed up being too heavy and wanting to lose weight all the time. I've been fasting for nearly 2 and a half years and the weight is going up....I know why but I just can't seem to stop myself overeating or eating the wrong things. I can't give up though.
@wildmissus what aboit PFT's summer challenge??

Moogie, so sorry to hear of your health issues. How fantastic that you are continuing to fast, I hope it starts to pay off for you again soon and wish you well with your health.
@JayeGirl to be honest it is so lomg ago have forgotten how to do! But @CandiceMarie or @Nursebean change theirs like other people change their kn*ckers, so I'm sure they will be along shortly to hold your hand through it!!
I posted on the Summer Challenge instead of here - never mind eh! I thought about going to SW very briefly but no - not going back down that road!
Wow @MaryAnn thank you! Youve revitalised this forum today with your post! X
