Hi To ourDarlings @silverdarling and @Wendy Darling x x
@JayeGirl if you go to Picasion.com,its very very easy to create an animated avatar..
You just choose pix from your online photo library and they do the rest and give you a line ( sorry dont know the techno jargon) but you just copy and paste that on your "manage yr avatar "page in the personal section
Hope that makes sense...ask any questions if you get stuck
There 's a fab set of instructions by Dominic..i will try and find the link for you ..x
Later..the link! To Dominics instructions!

Hi @lethally Lee and welcome and well done on yr loss so far x
As for is 5: 2 sustainable..it has proved to be so,for several people here, who are now maintaining very nicely and hopefully they will share their experiences with you
Others including myself, fall by the wayside...some of us pick ourselves up,time and time again..others give up and may disappear from the forum..they may even re appear and alwYs are welcomed back!
I think 5:2 works better than other regimes - for me anyway - coz with fasting i tend to lose where i want to lose..that is,tum and thighs and legs, rather than conventional diets which make me lose from top to toe..that is i lose from face, bust and fingers first!
Hope you enjoy yr 5:2 journey, just jump in,join in,read everything that takes yr attention, ask any questions that come up, and let us know how you get on! X
@MaryAnn wow and thank you x  :victory:

Penny! Hisashiburi! (Long time, no see) Re: a summer challenge: Arigatou!!!
Reasons why I don't post as much but still read is like @Tracieknits I'm embarrassed about putting weight back on over last 5 months (8 KGS!) And not fasting properly. I just gave my daughter a lovely 21st lunch party and when I saw the photos I could see I'd gone up a size but it was my own doing. My thoughts now are ' fast properly 2 times a week. Stop any extra gain ( which I have for the last month) cos I know the other15 kGS I lost will appear if I don't. I now give myself 2 years to get to a healthy weight so when I throw my son a 21st then I will be happy with the photos and it will be 6 months before I turn 50. So - confession completed! I still love this forum. The familiar friends and new friends but it is different than the old days. I totally agree with @Silverdarling that all of us oldies should ressurect an old interesting thread. I remember reading an old thread ( I think it was about @PennyForthem and her friend that she used to have lunch with who seemed uncomfortable with pft losing weight and it would affect there lunch and perhaps friendship. It was so fascinating to read and I so wanted to ressurect it because I knew the newbies could perhaps relate and enjoy reading it but I didn't know if that was appropriate or if I should ask Penny first if that was OK so I didn't. Anyway thanks Tracie for your honesty as you've inspired me to be honest too and thanks @MaryAnn for starting this snowball. :like:
Xxx julianna
There's a lot of individual posts I'd like to get back to, but for now: WOW! Imagine my surprise when I got up this morning and saw 4 pages of posts in this thread. Thanks everyone for you input! It's so great to see so many friendly faces I haven't seen in awhile!
I'm another old timer and can relate to many of the other comments. I still visit this site regularly but was put off for some time when it changed and I found it difficult to navigate. I'm used to it now but I think it's a shame that you can't automatically see people's loss to date under their avatar - I found it inspiring.

I reached my target in August 2013 and maintained easily until early 2014 when the stress of a new job which was a significant promotion hit me. I have regained about 14lbs ( half of my original loss) but I'm pleased that I have at least kept 14lbs off for nearly two years.

I have recently started 5:2 again and do like it, but I struggle combining it with my demanding job on some fast days as my energy level is not high enough.

Thank you to everyone who does post regularly as this forum is a great resource. I will try to be more active myself in future
Yes, do feel free @Julianna.
Our situation is more or less the same, but I can ad to it some more.
Oh its just like old times! How lovely to hear from so many "old" faces (you know what I mean) Moogie it is especially lovely to hear from you. So sorry to hear you've bean struggling but I bet those puddy cats keep your spirits up. I know my two little pooches do. They are my little sweethearts!
Anyway, just wanted to say hi to everyone who has returned. xx
@windsinger123 so lovelyto see you ! X
@julianna i too remember @pennyforthems " friend, and yes Penny wd love to hear more....people are fascinating arent they sometimes in their reactions.
Xx

So many replies,so many familiar faces here again and a new challenge on the go! Result! X :like:

Just goes to show that even though you long time members may not be posting you are still reading. Lovely to see you all chatting, though I'm lost in quite a bit of the conversations being so new lol.
Too funny how active THIS thread is!! I pop in sometimes, but I've had a very crazy year and just haven't had much time. I'm a teacher and will be done with school in 14 school days (but who's counting?? ) and am looking forward to being more active on here again. I will definitely need it too, since the summer is harder for me, since I am not busy with a roomful of kids all day! I would love to join the summer challenge! @Pennyforthem

Have a great day everyone. Looking forward to chatting with you all more!
I'm another one who reads more than I post, partly because I tend to read in bed and typing's a pain, partly because I rarely have time for more than a quick glance and partly because I'm supposed to be maintaining but I'm not.

Anyway, I have had a few months off from proper fasting but now I feel ready to go back to 5:2 and try to get back to my maintenance weight, and I've just signed up for the summer challenge so I should be around more!
I'm a bit of a lurker  Visit the site maybe two or three times a week but don't contribute much, sorry. Been maintaining since last September (16:8 mostly). As a foodie I like the idea of a Friday Show & Tell - hope that happens. If it does I promise I'll contribute!
