..on 1st Dec instead of 1st January..tho it would be so easy and so tempting to take December easy!
Why i hear you ask?! Partly coz of the reasons i found in an article below..
and partly coz I've just started on some new medicine that i' m very much hoping will give me some very welcome health improvements ..i am soooo fed up living a limited lifestyle!....so i' m thinking, new medication, new start...sounds like a plan!

Why wait until New Years to set yourself some goals? It doesn’t make any sense.
Be different, don’t follow the herd and think outside the box to get the best results.
Starting now will give you a head start, help you have a better and more relaxed Christmas, and if you fall off the wagon it won’t be a big deal – you’re ahead of the curve.
Five reasons you should start your New Years resolutions now
Lose weight
Drink less alcohol
Quit smoking
Get your finances in order
FIVE REASONS YOU SHOULD START YOUR NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS NOW
1. Frankly, is there a more ridiculous time to decide to make a radical change to your life than New Years Day? Chances are you’d stayed up late, drank more than you usually would and come New Years morning you’re feeling awful. It’s hardly the best start to your new way of life!
2. Beginning now will give you a head start on everyone elseand will allow you to more naturally implement the changes in your life.
3. After ‘Stoptober’ and ‘Go Sober for October’ it makes no sense to get back into bad habits only to try and give them up again in a few months time. Let the good habits become part of your everyday life.
4. When it comes to dieting, how good would it feel to approach the Christmas period in good shape? You’ll be able to relax, enjoy the Christmas food without too much worry and go back to your diet after Christmas. Normally we gorge ourselves silly and then try to use our New Years resolution to atone for it (and fail), whereas cutting back now will simply make Christmas an allowed ‘blip’ in your otherwise healthy life.
5. Starting now means that even if you do fall off the wagon and eat a little more than you should or have forgotten to go on one of your morning jogs then it’s no big deal, you’ve already started earlier than everyone else so cut yourself some slack!

I' m not waiting til jan,my new year starts now!X

Good for you, if you are ready to start, why wait??
I plan to try to keep fasting 2x a week during December, but some of my other goals will wait until January. It's not so much that it's New Year's, but just that's when I'll have more time to focus on them. I get a break from both jobs at the end of December and one of them until late January. I also have SO much to do for Christmas, that I can't take on anything else. But I hope to keep up the healthy habits I've had so far!
Good luck!
Well, I think that's a fine plan @candicemarie! I can totally see where you're coming from. Plenty of progress can be made between now and Christmas.....so who wouldn't want to minimise the damage?

I have recently returned to fasting after a few month's blip. I could have said to myself "No point in starting back before January" - but heaven knows what I would have piled back on by then! As it is, I have gained 11 pounds since registering my lowest weight in July....so I really need to get some order back in my life and claw some losses back......NOW!

Wishing you all the very best with everything you plan to achieve. I'm fully behind you! Xx

Good on you Candy. I admire your resolve given the year you have had. Go for it. :clover:  :clover:
Good luck with your new resolve, CandiceMarie, you know you can make a lot of progress in a month if you are determined! As always, forum members are here to support you. :clover:  :clover:
Good Luck with your New Year :) Little of this has anything to do with the calendar and everything to do with ourselves - that's why so many people describe IF as a WOL.

Otherwise, there can be a strong temptation to have 'one last over-indulgent Xmas - just because' or what Josie Spinardi would describe as Eatin' coz you ate. This encompasses what happens when people go off-plan from their usual food choices or eating schedule and instead of returning to the plan immediately the slip becomes the rationale to carry on eating until the next arbitrary starting point. E.g., 'After the weekend'; 'In the New Year' (and the more nebulous the starting date, the less likely it will firm up - 'New Year' is not committing to (say) Jan 3).

Changing isn't straightforward, is it. It's good to see that you have a plan and that it starts here. :)

Thank you Forum friends x!

Every pound you don't gain in December is one you don't have to lose in January. Sounds like you are on to something!
