New Year New Me is shiny, bright and gleaming @nursebean
Would be even better if i'd had some kip last night but you can't have everything can you!
Hows yr day bean dear Nursy, sounds like you've done very well, and possibly dining shortly, courtesy of Mr MarksnSparks? X
I think the excitement of your new meds is giving you sleepless nights Candy...that no good. Did you manage to have a nap today?
Today has bean absolutely crazy! I haven't bean able to do anything but sort out sale items. Ding, ding, ding went my computer!
Bean xxxx
So glad after your hard work building your little business empire @nursebean
No,no nap today, but i did lie down and listened to one of your Fave peeps..Mark Radcliffe along with Stuart Maconie x
Thanks for the welcome, @CandiceMarie and @nursebean! Happy New Year to you both, hope it brings lots of good improvements - starting with better treatment @CandiceMarie, crossing my fingers for it to work out really well for you - a positive attitude always helps!

My first fast is going well so far, had a late 200 cal lunch of fish with tomato, cucumber and coriander salad. Have been starting to get a peckish this afternoon (probably would usually snack around now) but have kept myself going with a diet tonic water and some water with lemon. I plan to have a small bowl of broccoli and spinach soup later for dinner. The hunger has not been a problem so far but I am realising how much I normally eat out of boredom, actually I'm glad I've started to recognise it so I can deal with it.

Interested to know what you and others have learned about yourselves through fasting...
Plenty of goodness in what you've had / going to have today!
Yes i think lots of us eat from boredom, anxiety, unhappiness, happiness and so on!sometimes we think we're hungry when really we're thirsty,so well done on the p.m. fluids!
Looks like a very successful fast under yr belt today @Vito!
Ps why not say hello in the Introduce Yourself section Vito..xx

Great idea, have now officially introduced myself! It's so nice to feel supported from day one on this forum, it definitely makes me think I'm more likely to keep going even when things don't go to plan...

@@CandiceMarie - aw I hope you are ready for a big sleep. I am ready after my very hearty winter low cal soup.
Here is my very bright green soup; kale and chicken soup, Hit the spot on the first day of UK winter! Very tasty.
One bag of Kale
Tasty chicken from yesterdays Sunday roast
2 cloves of garlic
1 medium onion
salt and pepper to taste
6 sage leaves
quick shake of chilli flakes
Whizz in the blender with water and a bit of stock then cook on low light till the kale is cooked 8-10 mis.
It serves four
No idea about cals as I don't count, I guess - max 200 a serving.
I'll cook that again, a hearty, low carb soup for this time of year. Dollop of greek yogurt would work as would other herbs to suit palate.
Enjoy your sleepy tonight. I'll be snoozing by midnight, I'm dun in now, the hot soup did it for me. Kitchen is closed, apart from the washing up and a lovely cuppa tea. I think I should have posted the KC soup to the fasting thread. x
Well, our new resolutions are already working for me. After I got son out the door I was the easy to nestle back and read the forum for a while. I thought " no, its already 21degrees celcius. Perfect walking weather. If you don't go now it will get too hot."So my 30 minute walk ended up being a 50 minute walk. I got my vitamin D and chicken bone broth bubbling on stove all before 9.30 am. And I saw a new low on scales. Only 0.2 KGS down but I'm happy with that.
Xxx julianna
Candy NOOOOOOOOOOOO!! My fave peeps is not Mark Radcliffe...its Mark Kermode!!! If you ever need cheering up, just tune in to Wittertainment. Mark Kermode and Simon Mayo discuss films in a most amusing way. Never fails to give me a boost. I have downloaded their podcasts from way back and often listen to them. I'm sure Mark Radcliffe is great...but he's no Mark Kermode!!
Bean
Ohhh sorry Beano @nursebean..i do like Kermode, have seen him on tv..have no idea what a podcast is tho..does it just mean downloading a programme thats already been broadcast? X
Hardly any sleep again last night beany ...slept from about ten to 12.20 and then that was more or less it.
Low cal day today.well done @julianna on yr long early walk and weight drop..every little helps x!
Happy New Year Candy!! Sign me up too. Here I had settled in maintains my loss quite well, and started the new med that makes my stomach hurt if I don't eat! Well, that throws my whole system off. I have gained about four pounds back in a bit over a week, NOT ACCEPTABLE!! Fast day today, and I must figure out how to keep my calories down and eat more freguently. I know we can do this!
I'm sorry you aren't sleeping well on the LDN, I have read of folks getting a kind of high ( wired and tired) feeling when first starting. You might want to check with your doc about cutting the dose just a bit, whilst you adjust. Fingers crossed that it helps heaps.
Vita, welcome! Sounds like you are off to a great start!
Happy New year and new energies to all. Phyllis
@mountainMyst Phyl, thanks for NY Wishes!
Your new med messing with yr weight loss/ yr tum, that's such a bummer!
Isnt it frustrating how meds we need can impede our weight loss journey?
Wd this work for you - If you need to take meds say 3 times a day with food...wd it be enough to take it with a spoon of yogurt or a small drink of milk or even a spoon of cream without making too many inroads into yr cals ?
I think my new med is in a syrupy base,so unfortunately i start the day with sugar. I can take it morning or evening, but don't take it evening as i have bouts of insomnia anyway and dont want even less sleep.
The initial dose ( for folk with M.E. and/or underactive thyroid ) is tiny ( 0.5 ml) ..literally a third of a teaspoon, and can only been increased by 0.5 ml per fortnight...will be March before i' m on a proper dose of about 3.5 - 4 ml! So hard to be patient,...but feel grateful that at last, the chance of a drug that might help.

New energies for the New Year ..sounds soooo good to me! :like:
The prescription i'd like to dispense to everyone..Good health,a little wealth and much happiness clover: X
Good luck@CandiceMarie . I was trying to work out how many fast to do over Christmas period and when to get back to it properly. We will go visit My lovely MIL at some point and there will be wine involved.
