Reasons to be cheerful 1, 2, 3!
19 Oct 2013, 20:37
 For us in the northern hemisphere we are entering those cold, damp, cheerless months of the year so I thought we might need some positive affirmations to counteract the doom and gloom and heavy heating bills!
So ok, you need to list three things that are currently making you happy, not diet or losing weight related, so we can spread the happiness around a bit!

My three
1.I'm minding my grandsons age 4 and 1 on Monday and look forward to making loads of mess baking with them.
2.My lovely husband is now well again after a serious illness last year.
3.I'm going to meet up with three forum members in November so it will be lovely to make new friends.

Hi! Great idea!
1. Going shopping and for lunch tomorrow with my best friend - first time out together child-free since I had my little one last Feb!
2. Been sorting out our loft and I think our house has lifted up from the relief - feels so good to sort and charity shop some stuff
3. Started up a new hobby - I've been making some felt Christmas decorations for my family and have really enjoyed being creative. Thinking of making some sort of toy for my brother and sister-in-law's baby who is due in December (I'm soooooo excited!!!!!)
Hmmm 3 things that are making me happy right now

1- On Tuesday it will be my boyfriends and my 2nd anniversary
2- Next Sunday Jamie will be traveling down to spend a week with me, first time I've seen him in 8 weeks.
3- Having my granny around for another Christmas (we nearly lost her last year with a heart condition)
GREAT thread - and lovely reading some of your happiness too.... a timely reminder for me that I've got a little self-centered recently with my weight loss and new eating and exercise regimes...

Three things that make me happy right now.....

1. My 4 horses. They are just wonderful and my special Joey who has restored my riding confidence after a horrible accident (not on him) last year. I feel happier and more confident riding with him than I have for many, many years. They are all so special and forgiving creatures and I feel so lucky and privileged to have them in my life. Even if it is sometimes a financial struggle, I wouldn't be without them.

2. My middle daughter (25 and with borderline personality disorder) has found herself a lovely young man to look after her and he copes with her mood swings brilliantly. She lives 150 miles away and it is so lovely not to have to worry about her as I know she has a special person to look after her now.

3. Thanks to my mother's behaviour (we don't get along at all, sadly) over a long period of time I have huge issues around Christmas and have tended to go to ground on the big day itself, hiding myself away and reappearing with an exhalation of relief on Boxing Day. However, this year I have invited my youngest daughter (22 and her wonderful OH) to come and stay for the festive season... and even better, I'm actually looking forward to it for the first time in many years.....
Oh I like this one.

1. Just booked my trip to see my family at Christmas. I can't wait.

2. I've just started a new hobby. mosaic. I love it.

3. The oranges and tangerines are almost ready for picking, yum. more than we (and everyone we know) can eat.

Dee :)
 oooh, all great reasons to be cheerful guys!
Think it's sometimes a good idea to take stock and count our blessings and it's wonderful to read about so many good things happening collectively.

Where's your trip to Dee? :?:
hmmm... I feel slightly sad that I'm having trouble thinking of things to be grateful for although 1) I will be spending chrimbo with my brother, which is something to be extremely cheerful about as we rarely see each other (once or twice a year) since our parents emigrated 10 years ago. 2) My Daughter... that is all. 3) My volunteer work helping others as a counsellor - 2nd to my daughter, I love this the most, my clients are so inspiring and they don't even know it!!
I totally agree callyanna. Some times we forget about nice things in life. I think I'll try to do this more often. I'm in Spain at the mo, so I'll be back in the uk. :) Hope it snows :)
Dee :)
1. my mum's 80th birthday next month - she's my dad's carer, and we have in the last week just got plans off the ground for the biggest party we have had in many years ... In a lovely hotel, great food, and she has invited all the people who have helped her over the past 3 years (including carers) as well as family and friends.
2. My new car. Ridiculous I know, but I have 'made do' with a 'hand-me down' for a few years, and have finally taken the plunge and bought a 2 year old Honda Civic - and it is the best car I have ever had. It is amazing what difference a decent car makes ...
3. Have a small windfall, and looking forward to spending at least some of it on something new to wear at the party - and also over Christmas
Great idea-
-My wonderful husband-I just said yesterday after I saw how clever he is rigging up the sprinkler system etc to prevent our house catching on fire " I got myself a real man. "
-that my 3 beautiful teenagers all get along well and a growing into caring happy people.
- that I still have 6 girlfriends from high school ( you can really be yourself with friends you went through puberty with 30 years ago.) But one of those friends is my best friend I have known since i was 5 - 40 years ago-the most authentic, funny, kind beautiful person I know.
Lovely. We have just been through winter here but it is still relevant!!

1. We had a fabulous long holiday and look at the some of the photos nearly every day to remind ourselves how lucky we are.
2. We live in a beautiful part of the world, so much glorious scenery, and good food!!!
3. I have a lovely hubby who puts up with a lot from me!!
