Woke up to 80mph gusts, a tree down across the road and our back fence blown over! Thank goodness we had the tree surgeon out last week to trim back our oaks or it could have been much worse!

Here in Netherlands the wind is really picking up speed today. Predicted up to 140 km/h gust on the north coast! :D

What a horrible night. Hardly got any sleep :frown: One of next doors fence panels came loose and smashed into my wall for most of the night. Got up to check what it was but nothing I could do about it.

99mph winds recorded off Isle of Wight (I am the other side it on the mainland!).

Just about to set off to work which is only a 5 min journey.

Glad I am not travelling this morning, roads and trains look a nightmare.

Edit - My 5 mins into work had a diversion for the tree being recovered across the road ! Lots of leaves, twigs and branches around.

Travelling today looks like being a nightmare! Luckily it's half-term so there's no school run traffic.

Very windy night in south Hampshire!! Luckily all good on inspection this morning, one fence panel down, but it's the neighbour's :)
Storm can go away now-please?! My guinea pigs have had enough!!

I got woken up by the sound of the wind at 6.30 a.m. Seems to be lessening now to be replaced by rain. I am hoping it's going to pass and brighten up soon. Perhaps this storm hasn't been nearly as bad as expected x

We got off lightly in North Cornwall but further east and on the south coast people weren't so lucky. Sad news about the 14 year old boy who got washed away by the sea, I feel for his parents. The search has been called off this morning.

We seem to have come off lucky in the NW. I slept like a log and woke to a miserable rainy, windy morning but definitely not gale force. Take care anyone travelling or driving today.

Here in Scotland, we have some thin high clouds that are marking the tail end of that weather system. After from that though, it is fine up here.

Oh Lordy, husband went off to work in his campervan and driving down the road, when the tree he'd just gone past came down!! Phew just missed him. It's ok the van is fully comp!!! ;) He got to work and the electric gates in and out are buckled so no one can get in or out of the building. He now wishes he'd taken half term off!
Mins trampoline tried to take off last night, luckily we had tied it down, but our tool shed is now blocking our side alley having scattered spades and the like. Job for later me thinks!

Down here in Southsea the storm passed without causing much damage as far as I can see. Not a patch on our previous 1997 hurricane, when it was complete carnage. Now beautiful sunny morning, so no excuse not to walk the hound. Its handy being protected by the Isle of Wight, which apparently experienced gust of over 90mph at the Needles.

We had the full force of the wind during the night in Devon. I didn't sleep at all due to other things. The only damage we had was that our Orange tree had been blown over, so not too much!! Still windy today with rain, have got to venture out in a short while.

My patch of the Midlands got a LOT of rain very fast about 5am, wind strong but not desperate, roads turned into rivers and left some flooding. My new shed roof leaked in one spot but our builder is on it now, a good test for it!

The heavy rain woke me up in the night/early hours. We have quite a bit of flooding here in the Shire but apart from that I think we got off lightly!
