Your avatar is appropriate John! Only had fluffies here but I suppose it will be with us in a couple of hours. I have resorted to shopping on line for a few Christmas presents rather than go out. Some good offers coming through.

Edit: loving how my ipad turns flurries into fluffies!
Just come home for lunch. We've had blizzards on and off this morning and the snow has frozen on the car windscreen. The temperature at the moment is 0 degrees. It is just wild.
Pretty wild here in S/Yorkshire. Its demolished the propagator and my lovely big lavender bush has moved next door! Big Son just rang to say he had been happily welding at work when the office roof landed on the workshop! Luckily no-one was hurt and he didn't manage to weld himself to anything but apparently the remains of the roof could well be following shortly if these gusts keep up. Something just went shooting down the passageway at the side of the house but I don't think I'll investigate yet!

Keep safe everyone!
I'm in Edinburgh. It was a wild night and has just started snowing.
I'm in Edinburgh and it was very crazy on the top deck of the bus this morning on my way to uni! When stopped at traffic lights it felt like the bus was going to get blown over! Calmed down now though apart from the odd flurry of snow.

Your avatar is also appropriate for that sort of weather Karen and it was because you had changed you avatar to the one with the nice wee kitten, that I also decided to go with a Christmas theme for mine instead of the old photo of me which was taken when I weighed about 13 stone. That was last year down in London where I was for the paralympic closing ceremony and I was on the London Eye when that previous photo was taken. That previous photo was also taken in much warmer climes and although it was already getting quite late in the year by then, the temperature in London got up to 29 degrees centigrade that day, which felt really hot for me.

Fortunately though, it also didn't snow here for long (and that snow certainly didn't lie) and the Sun has come out again. I'm guessing that these snow showers might pop up occasionally during the rest of the day, but hopefully the weather will be OK from now on although it won't be that long now before it starts getting dark again.
Just waved bye bye to our ridge tiles! Hubby is a courier and is out delivering. He has just narrowly missed being hit by a trampoline that has come whizzing over a fence!
Blue sky here ... At the moment
I am a South Yorks girl too @miffy49 and it is terrible! I have just driven past Grenoside wood (if you know where that is!!) and there are trees uprooted and huge branches all over the road!
My little dog must have had a bad nights sleep with all the wind. Today he has retired to our bed and tucked himself in amongst the thick winter duvet for six hours and will not move!!
Can't say I blame him, going to have a cosy day myself, just wish I wasn't fasting!! x
It's exciting, or so OH thinks anyway. We are being lashed by wind and rain currently, here in the Midlands, the bird bath has been all round the garden but not yet left it.
Stay safe everyone, no heroics please.
We had a relatively calm morning here on the South Lincolnshire Fens but the wild weather hit us at about 1 pm. From my study window I can see one of my young trees at 45 degrees to the ground but the rain has now stopped and the wind has dropped a little.

I took the bird feeders down this morning to re-fill them but didn't get around to replacing them. The one or two I left are now lying in the surrounding fields! My dog hates the wind and she is currently hiding behind the sofa. I am hoping that the wind will travel south very soon!

Look after yourselves and your pets, everyone!
I've got a huge German Shep and shes refusing to go for a wee because the shed door is rattling! No idea where the cats are hiding. I know they are indoors but can only assume they are hidden right at the back of the wardrobe.

According to the Sainsburys delivery chap theres a sofa on the M1 at Barlborough but no-one appears to be sitting on it!

I wont be sorry to see the back of this lot either!
It is all white here at the moment. The wind got up to mischief through the night and moved on. we have two trees down ( not too near the house ) and a shed door hanging from 1 hinge. My youngest son (a teacher) is delighted to get a day off, he's as bad as the children  Keep safe everybody, Yesterday I slipped on black ice and landed on my coccyx so I am moving a bit gingerly today, glad of the excuse to be lazy today. :like:
Get well soon Nessie. 100mph+ winds recorded in Co. Durham
Nessie, hope that you're feeling less stiff very soon. Let your son take care of you if he's got a day off! Miffy, I'm glad that my dog is not the only one afraid of the wind. She's a black lab and is a real wuss about a lot of things!

The sun is shining here now - the rain has passed but is still windy. My tree is now horizontal, having had it's roots pulled out of the ground! I'll deal with it when it's a bit warmer, so that won't be today!
