Moogie,

I hope you told him about your extortionately high consultancy fees!

You just send that later, like most businesses do :P

Moogie, if someone wants to pick your brain for free, tell them to pick their nose instead!!!

I too prefer the independence of this forum but I bet that Dr M's forum will also have its fair share of ads. We'll see...

I've been a few forums in the past where long-term members can join in for a small fee (e.g. £10 a year) and get a perk of some sort - from no ads to a 'secret' forum to a pen/bug/mug. Perhaps if server costs get out of hand, we could do something similar?

Applespider, I've been thinking about posting the same sort of thing, but thought that everyone would 'shout me down' if I suggested we pay!

I've joined diet forums in the past and paid a fairly hefty monthly fee and got nothing much for it, whereas on this forum, there is so much brilliant information and help, I would be more than happy to pay a small fee.

TML say it as it is chick, I love your terminology

Evie & Applespider, I will go along with any decision if it keeps this forum going and helps Moogie & Co.

Me too (re the small fee) when you look at what the Durkan lot charge

Whatever it takes to keep us independent :like:

Good on you Moogie

Hey Moogie I hope you charged the going consultancy rate when Dr M contacted you 'to pick your brain'. Independent site is good, but also agree on collaboration in research... I am sure someone will soon realise and offer some funding to enhance and reinforce this valueable asset you and others have created.

Chriso, love me or hate me, that's the way I am! :-)

I;d be happy to pay an annual fee if that will help the forums! I don't need anything in return, unless one can offer negative weight, LOLOL!!!

I too would be happy to pay a fee, this forum is so wonderful, and I definitely value it's independence. Do let us know if the forum needs money, I'm sure lots of us would willingly chip in

In that case, Chriso...
...today I went shopping with a friend from the States and her mum. She bought wonderful clothes and 5 pairs of shoes and then we went to a restaurant for a lovely tasting menu. I had a beer and no dessert. ;-)

Just to add, I too would be happy to pay a fee for membership. And as for ads, big deal! I wouldn't mind if the side bar was plastered in them. They're everywhere on line - we live in a capitalist society and we all shop so we have to expect ads. Just as long as they're not for food!! Cool clothes and shoes would be my preference!!
