Phew that's good news :) :)

Let's all raise a glass or three this evening
Must be a great relief. I'm happy for you!
Morning all!
I just spoke to his son, he is on the way to the hospital to see him so I will have news very soon. If he is awake, we will all be able to see him for a few minutes in the early evening.
We will pass through a spray with something like Dettol, wear a green costume and mask and probably have a tag with our names on so that he will know who the aliens are, LOLOLOL!!!
Can you tell I'm sky high happy??? :-)

I cannot thank you enough, if only I could throw a party for all of you...
Woohoo!!! So happy for you and your friend of course. I hope you get to see him later x
Great news. You must be so relieved. Lots of positive vibes coming all the way from Australia
That is great news! Positive vibes coming from me, too x
Fantastic, TML. Wonderful news!
MEDICAL PRESS!!! :-)

He's up. He woke up in panic but then they calmed him down. It is a big shock, apparently, waking up covered in tubes and cables and not knowing where you are.
He is generally well, only he has arrhythmia.
The surgeon is happy with his progress. On the other hand, the surgeon's WIFE is steaming mad with him because he left her at the baptism of her sister's child (she is also the GODMOTHER) to go the the hospital and see him.
I see a surgeon sleeping in a dog house tonight, LOLOLOL!!!

They will try to do the extubation (hopefully I'm using the correct term?) later in the day because not being able to sleep stresses him and worsens the arrhythmia.

Our group of friends will be there at 6pm for visiting hours but we aren't sure that we will see him. I'm happy knowing that he is fine though and there's plenty of time for visiting when he is better.
So glad to hear the good news, hope you get to see him soon :)
Well, I suppose if you think of all the complications that can arise an arrhythmia is one of the easiest to tackle. As for the surgeons wife, if shes been a doctors wife for any length of time she should be used to it by now! Don't suppose it makes these things any less aggravating though!

I imagine they will strictly restrict visiting for the first few days. When hubby was in ITU it was restricted to me and our two sons. Even their girlfriends weren't allowed in.
So glad things are going well...
Thank you ladies! :-)

Miffy, there is a rule for first grade relatives but if the relatives ask for someone to see the patient then they do allow it.
The "problem" with this guy is that he goes to the hospital even when he's not supposed to go. I respect him for that (he is an amazing man and scientist) but I'm sure that his wife expects him to be with her on his days off, especially when she is the Godmother in a baptism... Oh and he is sooooooooo sexy!!! Irrelevant but I thought I'd mention it. ;-)

Well it never hurts does it? You need something to brighten life up! Better than some fusty old doc!
YES! He is 47, wears fab but not pretentious suits and he's English accent is divine. He said that the machine that's keeping him warm is a "bear hug" and I thought "well I could do with a hug from you doctor", LOL!!!!
And his surgery shoes (they wear special shoes) are different from the other doctors' shoes. They look like loafers. YUM!
The first time we saw him my girlfriends and I were drooling all over him. But then we saw the ring... Pffffffffffft...
