Uh oh I broke my arm
04 Aug 2013, 08:21
Ice skating :-( a bad fall at the end of the day.

Unfortunately they couldn't set it, so they have to do surgery tomorrow to put a pin in.

Of course I'm already worried about fasting and running. But I probably should be worried about eating at all, and getting dressed.

Oh dear MaryAnn!

Hope it doesn't interfere with your daily regime too much! At least you can still post?! It will be a test of 5:2 to see if it has an effect if you're not able to keep up the physical exercise - good luck and you know where we are if you want to have a rant or two ... :like:

Thanks. They've put me on painkillers that have to be taken after eating, so I'll have to modify my fasts to include 3 meals. I think it should be ok. There was a look of horror on the face of the nurse when I asked her if I could run. A friend suggested I should be able to use a stationary bike.

Oh, MaryAnn that is a real bummer. I hope you aren't in too much pain and that the surgery is successful. A stationary bike sounds a good idea. Please listen to your body though. It needs energy toner pair the bones and the after effects of surgery. You could be sleepy and dopey and need the rest. Hopefully not and you'll be back to normal really quickly. Speedy recovery vibes sending to you .

MaryAnn sorry to hear your news and wishing you a speedy recovery. Because you are fit am sure your body will heal well for you and tis amazing how our bones are hard wired to knit. Am sure you will be back on track as soon as is prudent to be so.

Really sorry to hear your news. Hope all goes well with the surgery. Don't run, or do any exercise that will jar your arm. I think steady walking or stationary bike are your best options once you feel up to it as the bones/pins need time to knit together. I know it's a pain (sorry for the pun) but at least you have the tools to regain your fitness when your body is ready and the knowledge to keep your eating in check once you are feeling more like yourself. Sending very best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

Sorry to you broke your arm. You'll be back to running as soon as all the swelling from injury/surgery is over, listen to your body (and I suppose the Dr too, lol) but I would think you might miss no more than 2 weeks running, bike should help keep you fit in mean time. :)
