@hazlenut20, your post is lovely. My almost 13 year old has autistic traits (can't get a proper diagnosis due to her other issues). I too feel the need to matter (this is getting less)
I find life lonely sometimes and have came back to this forum to replace my comfort eating with nattering.
Joining tents helps @riel but don't be disheartened when people don't answer/thankyou. Lives are busy these days
Hope your sister is feeling better?

On the subject of thanking (or not thanking) people for posts, can I just say that this was the first forum I ever joined, and it took me a while to spot the thank you button, and to understand when to use it. Indeed, when I looked back at my earlier posts, I saw I hadn't thanked people for their welcomes. I realise now how unfriendly this would have seemed, but really didn't know at the time.
So please give people the benefit of the doubt!

Hi everyone, I haven't fasted properly recently, but I don't blame my sister's illness (unfortunately she is more poorly than we first thought) it's my head that is not in it. I haven't been able to visit as she is at home in Cornwall, and now family politics have reared it's ugly head, I am trying to rise above it but I am stuttering every now and then :frown: I plan to fast on Monday 'cos I have put on weight but I am not stressing about that 'cos I know it will go

Hi @Riel Unfortunately you seem to have a lot on your plate right now so cut yourself a little slack and get back on 5:2 when you feel the time is right, yes Monday if you're up to it you'll have plenty company me included.
Your head does need to be in the right place, so make yourself a little "ME" time over the weekend ready for your start, :clover: Good Luck from Sue. :clover: :clover: :clover:

@riel I'm down in Cornwall. If you are visiting and need a break and a friendly ear, give me a shout.
Family politics suck big time :dazed:
Just look after yourself x

Families, eh? Who'd have 'em??

As the saying goes @riel....friends are the family we'd choose for ourselves...

Just know that you are by no means alone on that one. As SueQ says, definitely cut yourself some slack right now. Until your head is in the right place, there's very little point in beating yourself up when so much is going on in your world.

It's very nice to hear from you, though I am really sorry you have so much on your plate at the mo.

Take care xx
